Kreis has kind of run his reputation into the ground since his RSL days. However, I would be excited for Berhalter.
I'm willing to give him a pass for how NYCFC totally ********ed him over. I look at his Orlando teams and see some talented players that mostly make me go "meh," but I guess that was generally true of RSL too.

Early in his first year at AZ, Stewart fired manager Gertjan Verbeek with the humble club sitting a more than respectable fourth in the Eredivisie standings. “He’s not afraid to make a big decision,” Johannsson said of Stewart. “You need a guy that is bold, brave, and is going to help bring the program forward. Earnie is perfect for that.” Why couldn't we have gotten THIS Earnie Stewart?

More talk about how results don’t matter... whole lot of spin on his way out just as it was on his way in. Toothless loser with no ambition. Good riddance.
https://www.prosoccerusa.com/mls/philadelphia-union/earnie-stewart-reflects-on-transfer-decisions-influx-of-young-players-and-philadelphia-union-legacy/ “I’m going to be arrogant and say there’s not that many players that haven’t succeeded here.” Earnie comments there are 3 people on the staff that scout players.... so Albright with the 2 others.. one is the intern they hired. Apparently the two of them developed their player analysis/identifying tools and “are way smarter” than Earnie. Kyle McCarthy, internship in 2015, hired as technical coordinator after the internship and promoted to Director of Scouting in March 2018 Dean Costalas hired as a data analyst in February of 2018.
On the surface it does not sound like enough scouting help. Looking at the players they bring in and, especially, do not bring in, it is clearly evident that it is not enough. They need to build more relationships in places like South America.
I did not read the article. Did they mention which one checks out the player ratings in FIFA? Which version of FIFA? Does the Union provide a console or do they have to use their own?
His record and dealings while with the Union have genuinely soured my thoughts on what he can do with US Soccer.

The lack of definitive confidence in decisions really irks me. I think ... it probably ... it sounds ....
“That was a difficult period,” Stewart admitted. “But it was a very good period because usually you don’t see teams coming back from that that have our stature. A lot of times you go through a season and it’s lost.” -Earnie on the 2016-2017 season Yep, we really bounced back with those great 2017 and 2018 seasons.
