Based on these odds CRC advances = 58.7% Hon advances = 41.3% CRC advances if: - they beat USA - Hon loses or draws in SLV OR - they win the playoff Hon advances if: - they beat SLV and CRC lose or draw in DC OR - they win the playoff
shitt...i heard on the radio that 10K catrachos are making the trip..found it a bit outrageous but who knows
US playing a horrible first '30 and then missing 3 clear-cut chances to be down 0-2 at HT. Mexico is (was?) down a couple of mins. ago: probably tied it. ES and Hond. were tied last time I checked.
How did CR lose a 2-0 lead? Worst part about this is going to be seeing nads have their wanks over being in 1st.
The Ticos have it bad. They have absolutely no momentum going into the game. Hopefully they get it together and beat those biatch-like Uruguayos who seemed to be playing for a tie.
I was quoting someone els and replaced the team names. It wasn't a serious post it was showing the stupidity of the argument (because you could make that case either way).
Well, here is a hint. In the first half the US was in on the keeper 4 times and missed all four and yet Costa Rica had 3 shots and scored 2 goals. If you keep that up for another 45 minutes you are going to end up getting some goals eventually. At one point the US had outshot Costa Rica 13 to 6. /shrug The funny thing is that US supporters do not have an inferiority complex and need to gloat over being first in the Hex. We are glad that we won the competition by qualifying first (obviously on the same day as Mexico, with one more point) and finishing first, but we are more concerned with the health of 3 players that have been key for us (Gooch, Davies, Spector) and our alleged German defector than we are about gloating over winning the Hex. The hex is about qualifying and growing towards a world cup quality team and we did that much. Mexico can also be happy heading towards the world cup and seeing the development of Vela, Dos Santos, and the overall mindset and confidense of the team.
Well.. I think they have a decent chance of getting the other half ticket. Difficult, but not impossible.
Probably the same people/person who said after 4 matches that Mexico should unpack their bags, and rent a big t.v. to watch the world cup in.
Unless I'm mistaken, don't the World Cup autoqualifyers get seeded for qualification in the next cycle? I believe that's what happens, and that's why 2 of the 3 of Mexico, USA and Costa Rica have gotten friendly draws in qualifying each cycle, this might finally be the time where Honduras gets out of the trap of constantly having to fight for its life in the semifinal round. Just a thought ,anyway, on the long term consequences of Honduras hopping over Costa Rica.
Nope. At least this cycle, FIFA ranking was the only thing used to seed qualification. A good qualifying campaign means Honduras has leapfrogged Costa Rica in the rankings and would get the third qualifying seed, but it's the seeding that counts, not qualification. If Costa Rica makes it through and has a good cup and Honduras flames out, Costa Rica could be back on top.
