Ok, we are entering the home stretch now and here are the final 10 matches for the three teams that have a shot at winning the crown this season. Groningen was drubbed by Roda today so they drop out. I still think it will go down to the final match day but there are some tricky fixtures coming up for each team. How much will the PSV drubbing of Feyenoord mean if this comes down to goal difference. The 'a' means an away match. Pick your winners if you are bold enough and we can use this thread for the weeks to come. I will update it with match scores. Ajax (45 points) VVV PSV (a) AZ Willem II (a) ADO Den Haag (a) Heracles Groningen NEC (a) Excelsior Heerenveen (a) Twente Twente (50 points) NEC AZ (a) NAC Excelsior (a) PSV Roda De Graafschap (a) ADO Den Haag (a) Willem II Ajax PSV (50 points) NAC Ajax Excelsior (a) NEC (a) Utrecht Twente (a) Heracles (a) Feyenoord (a) Vitesse Groningen (a)
Re: The Final 10 for 2011 Twente drop points, too tired from playing in Siberia on Thursday; Ajax squeak by 10 man VVV while PSV thrash 10 man NAC. The 'a' means an away match. Pick your winners if you are bold enough and we can use this thread for the weeks to come. I will update it with match scores. Ajax (48 points) VVV -- W, 1-0 PSV (a) AZ Willem II (a) ADO Den Haag (a) Heracles Groningen NEC (a) Excelsior Heerenveen (a) Twente Twente (51 points) NEC -- D, 1-1 AZ (a) NAC Excelsior (a) PSV Roda De Graafschap (a) ADO Den Haag (a) Willem II Ajax PSV (53 points) NAC -- W, 4-1 Ajax Excelsior (a) NEC (a) Utrecht Twente (a) Heracles (a) Feyenoord (a) Vitesse Groningen (a)
I think it's going to be PSV's year. Even though they're mostly crap, they keep on winning. The only hope I have now is Ajax HA!
We pretty much have to beat them in Eindhoven next week and hope for some help. Problem is they have this incredible goal differential thanks to Feyenoord.
Interesting stat from Ernst Bouwes twitter, PSV have had ten opponents sent off with Red Cards this season. Is there a conspiracy afoot?
^ Toivonen will not be suspended for his actions against NAC, making him eligible for the game against Ajax. Conspiracy? Yes!
All owing to Toivonen the little cheating twat no doubt. I can't remember Twente having an opponent sent off even once this season (apart from the Johan Fruit Schaal in which Suarez was sent off HA!)
It must be great for Ajax fans knowing that everybody's favourite villain now is Toivonen and not Suarez!
I think PSV and ******** Ola will take it. Weird though that nobody ever made a problem about Bakkal who has been demonstrating that poor sportsmanlike behavior for years.
Probably because Bakkal normally sits on the bench. At least he cannot bait our rabid striker who has since departed for Liverpool.
With Toivonen it's all so obviously calculated and pre-planned. It's like he's Portuguese or something.
The big game ends up 0-0; PSV had much of the possession but could not find a way through the Ajax defense. Ajax did not create many chances at all. Twente lose to AZ after both teams have a player sent off. PSV is in the driver's seat now and it looks like it's their crown to lose at this point. The 'a' means an away match. Pick your winners if you are bold enough and we can use this thread for the weeks to come. I will update it with match scores. Ajax (49 points) VVV -- W, 1-0 PSV (a) -- D, 0-0 AZ Willem II (a) ADO Den Haag (a) Heracles Groningen NEC (a) Excelsior Heerenveen (a) Twente Twente (51 points) NEC -- D, 1-1 AZ (a) L, 2-1 NAC Excelsior (a) PSV Roda De Graafschap (a) ADO Den Haag (a) Willem II Ajax PSV (54 points) NAC -- W, 4-1 Ajax -- D, 0-0 Excelsior (a) NEC (a) Utrecht Twente (a) Heracles (a) Feyenoord (a) Vitesse Groningen (a)
Not so sure. If Toivonen gets suspended that will have an impact. Feyenoord looks like they are coming together and will want to avenge what happened in Eindhoven and of course they have to travel to Twente! I can see them losing each of those matches and then it come down to the final match day between Ajax and Twente! (Well, a guy has to dream, correct?).
I'm too pissed off right now to even think about the rest of the season. I know watching the post match comments of our players however that they're so pissed off they can't wait for revenge.
At least Toivonen will be suspended for a few games! Hopefully the one vs Twente as well. Also, Douglas out (which is good) and Ruiz seems not to be fit yet either. Unfortunately Vertonghen could be out as well for his nutsackboxing practice. Anyway will be another interesting couple of weeks. And a nice goal by Janssen btw. Very funny. The last guy in Twente you expect to score an own goal.
The correct program is: PSV (54 points) NAC -- W, 4-1 Ajax -- D, 0-0 Excelsior (a) NEC (a) Utrecht Twente (a) Heerenveen Heracles (a) Feyenoord (a) Vitesse Groningen (a) Twente (51 points) NEC -- D, 1-1 AZ (a) -- L, 2-1 NAC VVV Excelsior (a) PSV Roda De Graafschap (a) ADO Den Haag (a) Willem II Ajax (a) Ajax (49 points) VVV -- W, 1-0 PSV (a) -- D, 0-0 AZ Willem II (a) ADO Den Haag (a) Heracles Groningen NEC (a) Excelsior Heerenveen (a) Twente
Realistically PSV has 1 tough game left--Twente-and 2 possibly tough games--Feyenoord and Groningen so they may lose 3- 6 points from now on to the end--worstcase 9--but unlikely Twente--2 tough games--PSV and Ajax --and one maybe tough--Den Haag--they need to make up 3 points--and not give up points to the other 2 they must win both of their tough games--PSV and Ajax basically run the table with wins with the suspensions and injuries this will be tough Ajax---has been so unpredictable I cannot even guess but they need to make up 5 points which is 2 wins more than PSV with 8 to go--like Twente thay almost have to run the table and hope Twente beats PSV If they tie or lose this weekend they are out of the running the best part is that these 3 teams still have to play head to head so they can control their own destiny as long as they do not lose or tie to a small club along the way
PSV without Toivonen, whos been in form lately. No Affelay, no Reis. Bakkal wasnt even on the bench last match. Them losing 9 points is looking more likely than not. Twente without the anchor of their defense, Douglas. Ajax without a striker, Mounir.
I think Feyenoord will beat them in Rotterdam taking revenge for what happened in Eindhoven. The question is where else will they drop points now that they solidly have the officials in their back pocket?
