Good, until the latest injury. His loan from Al Sadd should expire soon.

Sanfrecce are currently 8 points clear at the top, but they haven't looked particularly strong after the break and that gap could easily disappear over the next weeks.

So with that in mind, FC Tokyo suddenly looks like a potential dark horse for the title this year. Not sure they got the depth to go all the way, but few teams are as well organized at the back as they are.

If that were to happen, one have to feel sorry for Yoshito Okubo though. The minute he left Kawasaki they went on to win their first ever title, and that could happen with FC Tokyo as well now (and also with Kawasaki again, as he left them mid-season to join Iwata).

For all his goalscoring talent and skills, Okubo have sadly never won anything in Japan of any significance. He can however claim a Bundesliga trophy from when he played at Wolfsburg, but with only 9 appearances and no goals he didn't exactly play a vital role.

I just that Vanraure & FC Imabari can both pull out a miracle and come up to J3. So 16 original teams and goodbye to U-23 teams.

Speaking about J3, it's more sad to see Giravanz so far down on the table. They built their new stadium with ambitions of going to J1, and for a couple of seasons (before the stadium were finished) they came close too.
