Rio will apparently try his hand at boxing. Interesting move he's been working out like a mad man. Looking forward to seeing how this will pan out. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/09/18/rio-ferdinand-become-professional-boxer-age-38/

Aye. I seriously doubt Nemanja would ever put on a joke show as his former teammate appears to be embarked upon. I've worked with state athletic commission officials (in California) before and I cannot imagine the governing body in England would ever sanction an official fight involving Rio, now 38 years old. 20-30 years ago, perhaps, but not in today's world where brain damage is taken seriously.
Still don't get why Rio would want to do this. Perhaps, it's just one of those things he wants to be able to say he's done. Surprising and kind of confusing but at the same token, his circumstances are different than the average person. And he's done a great job getting himself in top shape. Following him on IG, he's been very serious about fitness for some time and he looks great. One thing to be in perfect shape and looking good, it's another one entirely to get hit in the face. We'll see where that goes...
Seven years ago today - if you're going to score your first #MUFC hat-trick, you may as well do it to clinch victory over Liverpool! pic.twitter.com/bOnbDkTd0o— Manchester United (@ManUtd) September 19, 2017
Boxing will help Rio channel his anger www.bbc.com/sport/boxing/41322190 While I still don't necessarily think it's the best idea for him to risk getting hurt (by trying to go "pro"), his reasoning for it make sense under the circumstances. He's mentioned in the documentary he made about the loss of his wife, how he still didn't fully deal with his loss, for a variety of reasons. It must be incredibly tough and hopefully this will provide him the outlet he needs to release his frustration and anger (as long as he stays safe with it).
Rio has been keeping himself busy enough, by the looks of it. And he's got 3 (still pretty young) children to boot. Pretty confident that boredom has naught to do with this...
I mean, he is getting sponsored by some bookies to do this nonsense. I think Betfair? He's probably making a decent coin, he'll have a fight or two and we'll forget it ever happened.
