The Championship should be appropriate level for him, and one where he may find some success. I hope he makes it, because he's not devoid of ability.

Next stop for Morrison, Birmingham and Redknapp apparently. www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-utd-news-ravel-morrison-13429922 Redknapp looks like a good manager for him. If he can't make it with him however, you have to wonder how many more opportunities he'll get after that.

Like it or not, he's not wrong about that. It will take someone who's machine like in terms of scoring, like those 2 or guys like RvN or Shearer to have any hopes of breaking his record. And they have to do it over a long period of time. Like all records, it will be broken someday, but it won't be anytime soon...
It'll be more about longevity than anything. Rooney's record averages about 19 goals a season. That's doable for most elite forwards. The issue is having them here for 13 years, which is unusual these days (actually, this was Rooney's main point). Law and Viollet's GPG rates were significantly better, but they just played fewer games.
Longevity definitely would play a part, either way, but the one possible way to get around extreme longevity, would be to score at a great clip for a few years. The way Ron for instance was going when he left United, is there many doubts he wouldn't have broken the record himself had he stayed? We'll never know unfortunately, but I'm banking it wouldn't have taken him 13yrs to do it either. So while I agree that a measure of longevity will be needed, depending on the player and how soon they start scoring, it could still be done quicker than Rooney did.
Oh absolutely. I'm just thinking that player turnover seems a lot faster these days and you'd probably need about a decade of solid production to beat it.
What I've heard is similiar to that: anything over 40 or 50lbs is doing damage, but below that, so long as the athlete is lifting with a smooth and steady motion, can be useful for rehabilitating the quad strength early in recovery.
