That there are plenty of black players but no black managers, at least in the top division of English football, speaks volumes. Of the total number of men (say 200?) who have managed a premiership club (let's let the past be the ancient past), how many of them were black? 1 I can recall, possibly 2, 3 at most. Whether we like to admit it or not, race is still a problem in the western world and that manifests itself in football management. Players themselves broke the color barrier long ago but there exists a de facto color barrier in football management. If we could say "We gave black managers their chance and they blew it." that would be bad enough, but how many have been give a real chance? None. And how many white clowns like Moyes have been given chances well above their proven station? Quite a few.

https://streamable.com/gvp0j Pat will go down as one of my all-time favorite United players. Top man. Big balls, too. Scored the winner against Nice today and was awarded motm.
Very good return from him. At this point, there's no way he would have been any worse than Martial this season.
I feel as though he will be one of those players that carries a chip on his shoulder for the remainder of his career, only to play blinders when we meet him in random group stage games in Europe. By the end, he will have shuffled through several Turkish, Eredivisie, and Belgian teams.
I don't see why he'd leave Lyon. He's found a home, the manager seems to trust him, so why leave. Get a little career stability after how he was in and out of favor under LVG and Mou, and then maybe take another crack at a top team if the opportunity presents itself.
Completely tongue in cheek. The kid has some talent and I really wish it had worked out for him. As you said, hopefully he can get some stability for once and hone his craft.
Vida, @RioFerdy5, Becks, Irwin and King Eric - so many greats! 👏Five legends made their final #MUFC appearances on this day in the past. pic.twitter.com/gr0Zm4JN0V— Manchester United (@ManUtd) May 11, 2017
Twenty years on, Eric Cantona remains a Premier League legend http://www.espn.in/football/english...-eric-cantona-remains-a-premier-league-legend
So happy for Josh King. Well done to him for bagging 15 PL goals, with still a couple games to play. With Lars Lagerback as the coach of Norway now, we could see him start to make some noise at the international level.
His strength was underrated. I am bit crossed seeing a mobile Rooney, Ronaldo, Scholes, Ferdinand and look what we have now.
The fact that when fit and healthy, he was right there with Henry and Trezeguet and ahead of any other French strikers at the time, speak volume about how good he really was. Just a pity he was so fragile and that everytime he looked set to go on a good run with United, he'd invariably get hurt. More than frustrating, it was just very sad for him.
