Cristiano Ronaldo: I learned art of football at Manchester United http://www.skysports.com/football/n...-learned-art-of-football-at-manchester-united
Macheda tells his story... www.espnfc.com/blog/espn-fc-united-blog/68/post/3098192/federico-macheda-tells-his-story-from-manchester-united-to-norava What could have been with him. He's still just 25, wouldn't even be in his prime yet...
He definitely had some poor injury luck. I remember that Birmingham spell and thinking that was going to be the start of his come back. Also, how many of these guys have the same regret - "I should have listened to Fergie." Every single person seems to have that same though, which speaks volumes of the man. Only 2 goals in 13 matches at Novara. Hopefully he is happy though.
http://www.skysports.com/football/n...-the-fergie-fledgling-is-yet-to-start-for-qpr not that i care but i'll post this since a few people here have more sympathy for him than i do but it just isn't working out
Quelle surprise! The biggest cautionary tale coming out of United in recent years. If the coaches want to use examples of talent lost or wasted for one reason or another, they don't need to go that far back. Morrison, Macheda and Powell (on different levels) are players who had great futures ahead of them, and have come nowhere close to fulfilling that great promise.
ESPN just did an interview with Kiko: http://www.espnfc.us/blog/espn-fc-u...ls-his-story-from-manchester-united-to-novara He may do ******** all the rest of his career, but his goal against Villa is one of the more memorable moments I've had as a United fan.
Giuseppe Rossi got a hat-trick two games ago but has unfortunately went off injured today and early reports are he has has ruptured an anterior cruciate ligament in his knee for the third time, this time his left knee.
Rossi's injury history alone, while extremely sad and unfortunate, is ample proof that United were right to let him go. Irrespective of any other circumstances. One can only imagine what hell he very likely would have gone thru had he stayed in the Prem. The odds may be long against at this stage, but it'd be pretty sweet if he managed to resume and finish his career, even if it meant going to MLS for instance.
Meh, I don't know about that. While there could be structural issues with him, bad luck is just as big a factor in ACL injuries due to the mechanics and motions necessary for the injury. The guy really just has no luck.
Luck is definitely a factor in a lot of knee/ACL injuries and we can all agree that Rossi in that department has not been spared in the least. Yet, it still does not change the fact that playing in a very rough and tumble league like the Prem would have, in all likelyhood, significantly increased the risk for constant and repeated injuries on his part. I'm very sympathetic of his plight, but it is what it is and we can only imagine what the constant kicking and crunching tackles he would have to deal with, would have meant in terms of his durability.
What are your memories of that incredible night at Old Trafford? https://t.co/RE0W9jkGbv— Manchester United (@ManUtd) April 10, 2017
ACL confirmed for Rossi. 7 months again. Dude is the Derrick Rose of the NBA. Poor bastard. I wonder if he just packs it in. I don't even know what the best decision would be. There were rumors of Torino being interested in purchasing him so he could stop this Fiorentina loan cycle, but now he's stuck here again.
Here's hoping he doesn't hang it up, even if it were very understandable in a way if he were to. I can only imagine how this must hurt mentally. But he'll still be 31 when he's ready to return. A career in Serie A or in one if Europe's top leagues might be over for him, but he surely could get himself a job somewhere else. As noted, MLS would be a great option: one of the New York clubs perhaps (even NYCFC, if he can stomach it). Would be perfect and he'd probably get a hero's welcome there. Definitely am rooting for him and hoping it's not the end yet.
http://www.skysports.com/football/n...-by-scoring-100-goals-in-european-competition i'll leave this here so it doesn't get drowned out by the newer posts in the OTT. very happy for him
What an accolade. It'll be a sad day once he has to hang em up. That moment seemed so far away just a few years ago, but he's 32 now...
Where it all began...Congratulations to @Cristiano on scoring 💯 European goals! 👏 pic.twitter.com/0jThuO8IlG— Manchester United (@ManUtd) April 13, 2017
Elsewhere tonight... Nick Powell has scored his first ever senior hat-trick.71' ⚽️72' ⚽️82' ⚽️He only needed 11 minutes. 🔥 pic.twitter.com/aroMsTm0OP— Squawka (@Squawka) April 13, 2017
And he scored in his previous game apparently. Good for him, but this is what has been so maddening about Powell and his United career. The talent and capability are obviously there and if he cared just a bit more, then who knows where he'd be right now. Waste of talent irritates me and is one of the most unforgivable sins in my book...
It was a sad day when he left us. If done as much here, he would be in line for a statue by now.395 goals. Still can't believe it.[emoji4] Cristiano Ronaldo has done so much for Real Madrid – so why do some fans whistle him? https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...genius?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Copy_to_clipboard
