WTF? Ronaldo is no academic but his English is fine for someone who has been in Spain and now Italy for over 10 years.
Bro, I deal with Quebecers that work for my company and even some of the ones in Montreal have terrible English Go talk to some older pork chops that lived in Toronto for 40 years and could barely put 2 sentences together
Well maybe that's where my frustration with Ronaldo command of the language stems from... Peppers that can't pronounce "development" properly all day long. Did you watch the leaders debate in english for our provincial election? Disgracful for some I just think that he's got enough time and money to figure out how to use the adjective instead of the noun in a very simple sentence.
He was there 6 seasons and is now on the 10th season living in non-English speaking countries. He didn't speak it in his everyday life at Madrid.
First he’s a rapist, then the selecao better without him, now his English sucks... Damn guy can’t do anything right huh?
I don't think you need to speak English in your everyday life to know the difference between "confident" and "confidence" English is an extremely simple language to learn compared to many others. He should prepare his statements before addressing the public about serious matters if he still isn't comfortable with the language. This is PR 101
Whoever shames someone who is bilingual in several languages for erroneous grammar/vocab must be a loser in real life.....Go find something else to shame. Go learn several languages and speak everyone of them spotless, and then get back to me.
Maybe if we were in grade school, this would make sense. The truth is, many professionals speak different languages flawlessly so why can't Ronny? I would be more lenient if he was solely addressing people with double digit IQs, who probably don't know the difference anyway. That's not the case here. He's discussing rape allegations, let's put down the "too cool for school" attitude for a second is all I'm saying
A person who reached adulthood speaking only Portuguese, learned English on the fly while living in the UK for six years, left to spend nine years in Spain, has a Spanish girlfriend, and is now trying to pick up Italian doesn't walk around having a lot of conversations in English. We all understand what he's saying even if he said confidence instead of confident. At least now we know you'll never let your membership in the Canadian Linguistic Association lapse, Art.
Read the post above, let it sink in, now hopefully you understand just how bizarre it is to be upset about Ronaldo's English. I would also add that with all things considered, his English seems pretty good to me.
Take a deep look at yourself, you're on the verge of turning into a self-hating Portuguese here. Learning a language isn't easy if you don't use it regularly. He can communicate perfectly fine, that's all he needs.
Lol because I don't settle for mediocrity, especially when my career and reputation are at stake? I'm not talking about your mother's and fathers that got off the boat years ago. They can be shit at any language and indeed no one cares. I am Talking about an international sports icon worth billions accused of rape in the twilight of his career. There's a big difference which some of you can't really grasp, keep it real though
Your career and reputation? Get a grip, loser. The response to prejudice is to stand on your own merits, not dissing your roots. And if you're talking about Ronaldo, I don't think the most popular sportsman on social media needs PR lessons from artielange84 at Big Soccer.
Ronaldo with a brace. That second goal and game winner, what a rocket. Also, I know Portuguese that have been here for over 10 years and some that came at 17 who don't speak English as well as Ronaldo so get a god damn grip. New languages come easy for some and incredibly difficult for others. Ronaldo's Spanish is not good at all either and he has a Spanish GF and lived their for 9 years and we all know how they do not understand or tolerate the Portuguese language. His Italian is non existant and will be for the duration of his time there. Zidane on the other hand could pick up any language and be fluent. Ronaldos "problem" is he trains more than anyone else and when not training or playing he is either on vacation or doing promo work for his products or sponsors.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/syndic...as-most-followed-person-on-instagram.amp.html Ronaldo is now the most followed person on Instagram.
Portugal without Ronaldo is better than Real Madrid without Ronaldo. Real Madrid is a dumpster fire right now......
Let's be honest, he wouldn't suck if he had Ronaldo. Real Madrid have a scoring problem. It's very clear what the issue is.
Lopetegui was always the wrong man for the job. We all saw what he did at Porto. The fact that Madrid sabotaged Spain's World Cup to get him is unbelievably dumb. And then they decide not to buy a proven striker that can score goals. Benzema is over rated.
Lopetegui is incredibly bad. He always was. Real without Madrid lose the edge that made them recurring champions, that much is clear. But it's still an incredibly stacked team and they should be in the top places of La Liga. Yet they are 9th. Cavs without Lebron are a bunch of bums.
Is he a good manager? Probably not. Madrid have had other bad managers before (Benitez, anyone?) but when you have Ronaldo there to bail you out, it saves you. If CR7 were still at Madrid, they wouldn't be in the position they are now. I think even Florentino would concede that.
