I cant speak for anyone else but Ive always thought he was trash. Treats the ball like a grenade. Envoyé de mon SM-N910F en utilisant Tapatalk
I agree with this. He had a good spurt but we have all seen trash players have a good run of form. Never liked Mike as a starter.
Both Smalling and Jones have regressed alarmingly since SAF and our proper CBs retired/left. Smalling is ahead of Blind who is ahead of Jones - which is a damning indictment on all of them. Bailly is in a different class (in a good way) as is Rojo (in a very bad way). Championship winning teams are built on a solid defence and a solid defence is built on a solid trinity of CBs and 'keeper. Would keep Smalls as backup, but buy a quality starting CB to partner Bailly. Ditch Jones/Rojo and use Blind only as a left-back and #6 (effectively a back 3 which would expose his deficiencies less - for starters would stop him playing people onside to hedge against his lack of pace).
What Mourinho needs to do to parry Bailly's loss. http://mufclatest.com/changes-man-utd-cover-bailly-loss/
The need for a January buy is obvious. At the very least, Rojo and Jones need to be cut loose ASAP. An argument can be made for keeping Smalling. But we can't rely on Blind at CB for the rest of the season.
This is where at this time last year, LVG trusted the likes of BoJ, and he would have done so with Tuanzebe or Williams or even Riley at LB. Mourinho wants to keep playing the experienced players even if they are not good enough.
Not true. This only occured when the injury crises was very deep. Blind, Rojo, Smalling, Darmian, Shaw and Valencia are all stil fit. All 6 would have started under LvG, ahead of tuanzebe or Williams.
Manchester United's Chris Smalling confirms he played with broken toe http://www.espn.in/football/manches...s-smalling-confirms-he-played-with-broken-toe
It's no surprise at all and watching his play on the day, it was very obvious something was amiss, regardless of what one may think about him. He shouldn't have been on the pitch at all and his subsequent prolonged absence proved that in spades.
It was pretty obvious that LvG's defensive system was designed to protect Smalling. When LvG switched the midfield to a completely man-oriented MF last season, Smalling was the most exposed.
As opposed to zonal system. On another note, Smalling made several excellent bursts into and through midfield last time out. It was good to see.
and? it still doesn't mean he was good. he had a litany of stupid errors and sending offs. Hull, city red card, FA Cup final, chelsea are some of the stand out ones. 12+ bad months. so the only bollocks you're referring to is his form
He was overworked and we had shit manager. He had bad moments but they were out numbered 2 to 3 times over by games where he was fantastic.
