Cerezo could be a huge club and brand in Japan if they didn't suck on the pitch. Their off the pitch activities are good, they have a good pr team. But it doesn't mean much if your team sucks.
Amazing the difference between a good coach and a bad coach. Thought that a team with good players can override the disadvantage of a bad coach like Barcelona did last season. Seems like not every club is able to do the same.
Hey Cerezo Osaka, Oswaldo is free: http://globoesporte.globo.com/futeb...tido-pelo-santos-enderson-moreira-cotado.html
Pezzaiuoli sacked, Yuji Okuma the new coach. http://www.cerezo.co.jp/news_detail.asp?c_idx=10014205&contents_code=100104 http://www.cerezo.co.jp/news_detail.asp?c_idx=10014206&contents_code=100100
Intersting. Cerezo didn't showed a bad attacking display in the games vs Frontale. But this change was expected before that.
How do Cerezo fans rate Pezzaiuoli's ability to nurture youths since iirc, he was brought in to develop young talents?
After the WC break, 13 matches. CRZ Tweets @crz_tweets 9h Yuji Okuma, a former Kashiwa player and younger brother of Kiyoshi Okuma, used to be the head coach of the first team in 2005 and 2006. Yuji it's the brother of freshly sacked Kiyoshi, former manager of Ardija.
He won two matches with Ryo Nagai and Sugimoto upfront, no Forlán or Cacau. The team got better without the "stars"
Yamaguchi needs knee surgery which will keep him out 2-4 months. In the worst case scenario he'll miss the remainder of the season and even the Asian Cup.
Btw I knew Cerezo would do better under a domestic coach. Sometimes for few clubs, foreign coaches just don't work especially in J-League. I hope Okuma can help them out of the relegation zone, speaking in terms of quality they don't deserve to be at the bottom of the table let alone J2. Thats on paper, reality is a different story though..
I do agree the reality is japan does not need foreign coaches as in old times. I think many semi-followers really hasnt realized how much the game has chnged since 1991 were Japan could do nothing.
I started following J-League since few months so I can not judge on that, but I think lack of knowledge and language barriers which most foreign coaches have in Japan may haunt them to show their coaching potential. 2 foreign coaches both failed at Cerezo in a short span speaks volume about what I said.
And yet, there is only 2 Japanese managers who have won the league since the 1-stage season was introduced in 2005. 2005 Japanese 2006 German 2007 Brazilian 2008 Brazilian 2009 Brazilian 2010 Serbian 2011 Brazilian 2012 Japanese 2013 Japanese
If the best teams are given to foreigners ... But I agree that there is no issue whatsoever with foreign coaches, as for the japanese ones, it all comes down to the quality.
Agreed. PS; This weekend match up will be interesting one. A open game to me. Both team can win the game… S Pulse vs Cerezo Osaka. Relegation zone battle . Cerezo could grap 3 golden points in this away game. I don't see any home advance for S Pulse in this season. They struggle many ways. If Cerezo win the game ,no shocker to me. If S Pulse win the game,..its up to their defense and midfield performance mostly… Omae,Novakovic scored in the recent games,.and midfielder Honda support upfront too,.in a score department. Speaking of score, His goal were pure class in the last weekend match. Midfield must focus and stay strong physical match up at the middle battle. Defense line players must stay compact and sharp shape at the dead ball sets,.. and must be react fast at opposite players shooting treats. All in all; S Pulse hard to finish any single game zero goal against… They must fix this big errors at the team defensive works sets. Cerezo's Cacau scored pure beauty vs Urawa. This could boost his morale… We can see another long range beauty goal in this weekend match. Injury free, good fair play game for both team I hope. Regards,
