I flew in Antonov-10 a few times ... and lived to tell about it (not Russia's most successful aircraft).
Yeah I had the pleasure of riding this fine specimen between Prague, Kosovo and Bosnia after the war. I think it permanently damaged my hearing, but hey, I made it home.
Bijev (or Bizhev) started and played 84 minutes in a 1-0 win ...on Friday the 13th! http://us.soccerway.com/matches/201...more-varna/pfk-haskovo/1703383/?ICID=PL_MS_04
This is the time when the Bulgarian A League splits into a Championship Round (top 6 teams) and Relegation Round (bottom 6) and they play home and away to determine champions, European places and relegation. Cherno More Varna is unfortunately in the Relegation group and played their first game, a 1-0 win against Marek. Bijev started and played 78 minutes. They are now 2nd in the 6 team minitable and seem to be safe from relegation (20 points). http://us.soccerway.com/matches/201...rna/pfc-marek-dupnitsa/2021666/?ICID=PL_MS_01
Didn't get called up for u-23 training camp. Seems to have shifted allegiances to Bulgaria in any case.
He played the sole striker and did not play it badly ... almost scored. This is probably a high League One - Low Championship quality soccer. He just turned 22, so it's good for him to keep on working his way up. PS. Crappy weather for March. Crimea was snowed in last week. Some resort.
Bijev scored a goal in a Cup game on April 7th. Cherno More are in the final on May 27th. He also scored in a 2-0 away win last week at Marek.
My hometown is Varna and i met Bijev as he lives around my University. He seems to be a very nice guy, but for now he didn't show the potential he have on the pitch. I expected a lot more since he come back to Bulgaria and after him 1st goal in him debut for Slavia Sofia, but since then...Slavia was never a good team and i was almost shocked when i read that he joined the club. Can't say that Cherno More are better, but they are on the Cup final and if they won will play in Europa League. Bijev made some good games with Cherno More indeed and i expect a lot more from him in next season as i believe he will remain with the team. I don't know which NT will he choose to play, but for now i don't see him as a US team player as he have a lot more work to do to be good enough for the team.
Post match comments from Bjorn. A lot riding on the CSKA match next week to get into Europa. That should be a pretty good match btw so find a stream if you can. http://litex.gong.bg/bg-football/a-...acha-v-lovech-maars-otboryt-mi-pomogna-329819 Interesting side note is an Inter scout was at the match to watch Ludogorets defender(Terziev), who Bjorn obviously got the best of. Wouldn't be surprised if Bjorn caught his eye.

Yes, the game today, I don't know how Varna managed to win but they did. Bunkered and absorbed, Levski dominated the run of play. Was 1-1 and Varna scored in the 119th min to give them the win.

It sounds like he is a free agent. (This is a good story if you're trying to catch up on VB history): Having absorbed these lessons, you decide it’s time to leave Bulgaria. You part ways with Cherno More at midseason and head home to Fresno to spend the holidays with your family and figure out the next move. Of course you’ll continue playing soccer. It’s just a matter of where. You have an agent looking at opportunities in Europe. You also have people like Schultz reaching out to MLS clubs on your behalf. “I’d love to see Villyan come back and play in the United States,” Schultz says. “He has the credentials to get into some MLS camps, without a doubt. What happens then is up to him.” Mostly, it’s about finding a good fit. Someplace where you’ll get an opportunity to compete for playing time. http://www.fresnobee.com/sports/spt...warszawski/article51694200.html#storylink=cpy
It's a follow up - a commentary - in relating to Villyan Bijev's journey written by the Fresco Bee sport columnist Marek Warszawski.
