It's been ages since this thread was last updated... How many Blowout Combs has there been this season?

The Dynamo used to be the opposite of that. 2013 ended almost 8 years without giving one up. And then they did it again in 2014. But none since as bad as we have been so still a pretty good ratio.
Yes, the arithmetic is simple. But this is uncharacteristic of teams in similar positions on the table. Goal margins [Goals(# of Matches)] Wins: 1(8); 2(0); 3(2); 4+(0) Defeats: 1(2); 2(4); 3(3); 4+(3) So, it's clear, San Jose loses by multiple goals over 80% of the time and only 20% of the time wins by multiple goals. OUCH!
Over a longer period, one should expect something like a normal distribution when it comes to game margins. SJ has more 1 goal wins and multi-goal losses than it should and not near enough 1 goal losses. In short, they've been luckier than they've been good. This bodes poorly for catching up to Dallas.
True, if I had some time I would do some comparisons at the link below, which is where I got the stats from. http://www.soccerstats.com/team.asp?league=usa&teamid=15
With a goal difference of -0.6/game, only two single goal losses for San Jose really stands out, since it's the closest result to the median.
3rd blowout victory of the season for Atlanta. 1st Comb of the season for New England (MLS record 23rd overall). 2nd honorary Comb of the season for referee Baldomero Toledo (13th overall).
It's OK, I get the feeling @ElJefe was at another one of those games in Dallas. Plenty of commiserations to go around.
LA 0 - 4 TOR 24th Comb of the year, 220th overall. 4th blowout victory of the year for Toronto, 7th overall. 2nd Comb of the year for Los Angeles, 9th overall. 2nd Honorary Comb of the year for referee Kevin Stott, record 22nd overall. Both of LA's Combs in 2017 have been earned at home. Kevin Stott was the referee both times. Coincidence? Absolutely.
