I'm a kid who loves soccer. I'm 17 and am about 5'6.75. Got some massively short legs and long body. I'm a freak. Haven't grown since I was 13. Anyhow, I was lamenting my inability to play sports and blamed it on my body. Then my cousin (quite good, plays for BYU, did ODP since 14) pointed out to me that Maradona was 5'6 and had pretty much the same build as me. I was shocked, but I thought it was really cool. Come to find out one of the best free kick takers in the game, Roberto Carlos, is 5'6 too. So now I'm convinced 5'6 stalky guys are meant to play soccer. Anyone know any other great players who maxed out at about 5'6 or less?
Mikey is 5'8" and Scholes is about 5'7". Gianfranco Zola checks in at 5'6", Juninho isn't exactly stocky, but he's 5'5".
How tall you are doesn´t matter in football, people say the best footballers are the smallers.(The tallest are good to score goals with the head) Here´s some of them, moreless I say the tall Goalkeeper Campos (1,50 m) Javier Saviola (1,65 m,) Ariel Ortega (1,60m)
There are(os have been) many short great footballers: Maradona Butragueño Roberto Carlos Edgard Davis Romario Bebeto Michael Owen Makelele Scholes Saviola Pablo Aimar
Ferenc Puskas was not only short, but overweight and rarely (if ever) used his right foot. He turned out alright.
Pele: 5' 6+1/2'' (172cm) Born October 23 Maradona: 5' 6'' (168 cm) Born October 30 Bryan, if you're born in October give IMG a call.
"Pibe" Valderrama (Colombia) is about 5'7. I was surprised at the fact that Michael Owen was that short. Romario one of the shortest brazilian superstars. R. Carlos.
Ariel "El Burrito" Ortega from ARG is also short. He's incredibly fast and deadly in the box. He's also a sneaky little ************, much like Totti.
Dude, my birthday is October 21, 1985. I feel so entirely special... who cares if I'm nowhere near as good as Pele or Maradona, I'm like an American version of them (minus the sex and drugs...).
Zola? Whoa i never noticed he was that short, i'll pay more attention the next time i watch him play.
