It’s not just players who transfer clubs during the summer break. The culmination of the previous season and the prolonged period of rest means it’s an opportune moment for owners to change their club’s manager. Maybe they want a fresh change of approach, maybe things have happened off-the-field, or maybe they need a replacement for an outgoing boss. So who has gone? Who is going? And who could come in?

There are some good discussions happening the paucity of English opportunity too!

    Not Pottering About

One club that were swift and decisive in their managerial business this summer was Brighton, who departed with model of consistency Chris Hughton after a disappointing finish to the season. Only a day after losing to champions Man City on the final day of the season, the south coast side announced they’d parted ways with the coach who had guided them to Premier League promotion only two years previous. However, they soon appointed Swansea’s promising manager Graham Potter on a four-year deal only a week later. In the next few weeks he’ll be looking for some bargains on the transfer market, and Discount Promo Codes you could find some bargains of your own too. With discount vouchers from places such as Sports Direct and Footasylum, you could bag more great value-for-money deals than Brighton.

Sarri Seems to be the Hardest Word

As it seems, no sooner had Maurizio Sarri pitched up at Chelsea from Serie A’s Napoli than him confirming his return to the Italian top flight, becoming the manager of reigning champions Juventus. Massimiliano Allegri departed for pastures new after winning four back-to-back Coppa Italia titles and four consecutive Serie A championships, and Juventus were quick to snap up Sarri, who, in his first and only season with Chelsea, finished 3rd in the Premier League, runners up in the Carabao Cup and winners vs Arsenal in the Europa League Final. After winning the European title, Chelsea’s second success in the competition, Sarri collected his winners medal and move straight back to Italy, the country in which he had previously spent all his managerial career. With Chelsea currently under a transfer embargo and Hazard having left Stamford Bridge to join Real Madrid, the timing seemed right for Sarri to move on after just one season - plus, a lure of managing a strong Juventus side is very difficult to say no to. So who will they bring in as a replacement? Well, it looks like Frank Lampard is soon to return to the club he played for for 13 years.

    Rafa No Longer the Gaffer

Newcastle United fans look away now. It was announced that Rafa Benitez would not be renewing his contract with the club after discussions with Mike Ashley, which means he’ll be leaving at the end of June. This has ultimately led to backlash from the faithful Magpies fans, calling for Ashley to complete his sale of the club as quickly as possible. Benitez, who guided Newcastle to a 13th-placed finish this season, has previously bemoaned the lack of funds at his disposal to invest in the squad, and despite some reports saying he would have money to spend this summer, the cash hasn’t been forthcoming. So, who will replace the Spaniard? Well there are a whole host of names in the mix, including the surprise inclusion of Jose Mourinho, once bitter rival of Benitez, could he be the man to build on what Rafa had built? Or alternatively, will they go for a lesser name, but still a safe pair of hands? Both Garry Monk and former Newcastle boss Chris Hughton, the same one who was let go by Brighton, have been mentioned. ESPN have been discussing what’s most likely.
