Yeh I would replace Isco for James, however it wont happen because he’s Spanish

Oh come on now , it is a miracle that KDB didn't win PL best player of the season . Meanwhile Isco warms up the bench or gets subbed at 65th minute when he starts .

Isco does his best work in the middle 1/3 of the field. James and De Bruyne are more dangerous in the final 1/3.

Forwards are generally rated higher and considered more valuable but a team needs players to do other things, and what Isco is good at, nobody is better.

What does Isco do so well that nobody is better?

I wouldn't be under any illusions about Isco. If Lopetegui had Cristiano, Bale, Modric, Kroos etc in his Spain squad, Isco's minutes would drastically go down.

The thing is, both Isco and Asensio should be playing more this coming season anyway, no matter who the coach is. They need to be our future key players and our future leaders.

I am happy with the coach. The biggest thing we needed was someone the players respected, and although I know little about him, I can see he will have that from Sergio, and that is key. His lack of big club experience at the very top level concerns me. Zizou was inexperienced in management, but as a player he had done it all.

I hope he can guide us through a needed transition smoothly and pick up some silverware along the way.

I think Pintus stays. Flo loves him and doubt Julian has someone like him in his support team.

I think KDB is more consistent than both Isco and James. He had 25 assists and 12 goals this season.. James only reached these type of numbers in his first year here.. Isco never has and he plays a lot.

Julian is getting a lot of hate from some Spanish journalists for the timing of the decision.

El Pais, Multiple AS journalists bashed him from what I saw.

JLS: Rubiales and Lopetegui are meeting right now, The president is angry."

Conte agreed to coach Chelsea before the 2016 Euro started and they did well in the tournament.

Luis Aragones agreed to coach Fenerbahce before winning the 2008 Euro with Spain.

The media will overstate the timing of this announcement, which will only add to the pressure for Spain to succeed in this World Cup. If they fail, the press will say its his fault for distracting the team.

He's spewing so much hate towards Julian and RM & Retweeing other articles against the coach.

If anything the "Spanish NT loving" journos are gonna jeopardize the team 'cos they are so pressed about RM and making this a big controversy. While everyone remained calm when Aragones, LVG and Conte did the same which helped them achieve good results.

Honestly a bit underwhelmed by this appointment. At the same time, didn't really feel like there was a natural successor out there so I'm not too bummed.

The only thing I don't like here is that the team will go in a completely new direction now I think, no more BBC. I am quite certain both Bale and Cristiano will leave; making more space for Isco and Asensio. Makes me a bit worried because I don't know if they are good enough yet to be guaranteed starters that can be instrumental in winning us 1 or 2 major trophies a year.
