Mariano is a far better player than Negredo ever was. I genuinely believe if he is given the opportunity, he would be good enough to be a starter at Real Madrid (and not by using the Benzema standard).
I don't see how we can logically pull this one off. In the summer the leverage will force Chelsea's hands. I don't see Chelsea selling at a reasonable cost in January.... especially if Hazard continues this pace.
For Real Madrid's starting standard, we need a RVN or Higuain in his prime. We are the best.... the striker has to be one of the best in his generation. I hope that I am wrong, but Mariano won't be that level.
these are just newspaper making rumors and headlines. Perez never buys big in the winter, and even if things are going bad, its easier and cheaper to sack the coach and get a new one, then invest heavy in players in the middle of the year.
I think the reason for this historically was the CL cup-tie, which I understand is no longer in force. He has been happy to invest in South American talent in winter IIRC. I don't see Chelsea reducing their demands in summer, so may as well make the same offer now.
All comparisons to previous winter mercatos are moot, because starting from this season, players are NOT CL/EL tied anymore. It was a big reason why summer mercatos were more popular, because for big clubs like us that aim for CL win it would be stupid to buy star players you can't use in EU cups. Sure Farca did it with Coutinho last year, and they just proved they are a f*cking joke again. In the future, Winter mercatos will start getting as big because: 1/ No player are EU cups tied anymore. 2/ The summer mercatos will end ealier progressively in all big leagues following what the EPL, and Serie A did. Next season, the French League will also close their summer mercato ealier. He has 2 years left. In the summer he will still have one year left in his contract.
He's really failing to prove himself here and he has one leg out of the door already. I said a couple of weeks ago that i would give him time till December or January but with games like this i doubt he's gonna make El Classico lol. I think the perfect manager these days is a man manager with a strong tactical and technical team behind him, which is what Zizou was and had.
Paying 150M+ for a guy like Hazard would be extra comical considering we passed out on 180M+ investment in wunder kid.
I like the Conte rumors; he has the tactical knowledge to make this team click again. I just hope he gets the backing he needs.
seems like decent coach, its a shame he had to come after 3 successful back to back CL, the shadow of zidane is still large and the departure of real madrid best goal scorer... the odds where against him
Yeah, if you want Mourinho football then Conte is the man. Good tactics (in the beginning) but boring football. No thank you. I’ll take Wenger above him to finish this season and then go after Pochettino.
Wenger as a short term solution? I dont think so. He needs time, patience and a quality squad to make a winning team. If i have to choose between the two, Conte it is.
What happened today? He's not at fault for varane and ramos mistakes. We destroyed levante. More chances created than probably any team in Europe this weekend. Team selection and subs were spot on. I don't see how Lope is at fault for this particular game.
SER: Lopetegui saw Florentino and believes that he will continue Florentino met with Lopetegui and, according to the SER , the coach came away with the feeling that he will sit on the bench on Tuesday against Viktoria Plzen.
But someone got to be the scapegoat. That's a fact in life. In the middle of the season, there is no one to fire, except the coach. And that has been the way how the sporting world operates. I said the same thing. But the season has gone from bad to.... an emergency situation. Some chances need to be done. What else can be done in the middle of a season?
