I guess he cannot keep the Spain job and refuse to call up Barca players. Lol

Now we gon see the Isco of Spain. Build the team around him and Asensio, he is a huge fan of em both. Glad we got him and not that trash from
    Italy.

Ceballos gon get a lot of minutes too which is a good thing.

    Coaching highlights:

From 2010-2014 he coached Spanish youth teams, winning the 2012 U-19 Euro championship and the 2013 U21 Championship.

Went to Porto in 2014 and immediately signed 7 Spanish players. In 2014, he made it to the quarterfinals of the Champions League. Finished 2nd in domestic league.

Takes over for Spain in 2016. He has been the coach for 20 matches and is undefeated

His style of play suits our personnel. This is the best point.

Actually he was the coach who developed Casemiro in Porto too

Yeah he had a very short fuse with the media at Porto which is concerning to me. He’ll have to tone it down quite a bit if he’s going to survive here.

More playing time for Ceballos and Asensio coming up. Isco looks a world beater for Spain so hopefully Lopetegui can bring that out in him here more consistently.

    Few quick thoughts:
    1. Isco and Asensio to get bigger roles. Don't be surprised when you see Kepa,De Gea & Odriozola being linked to us. I wouldn't mind 2 out of the 3.
    2. He plays 4-3-3 and 4-3-2-1 with 1 striker and not necessarily real wingers. This should mainly impact Benzema and perhaps Ronaldo. Bale is pretty much ********ed.

Safe choice. could have been worse, could have been better. Perez said earlier he wants spanish coach at some point. Isco,Asensio celebrating, Bale.. probably gone.

It’s better than a few other names mentioned as well. The first thing I said after my brother told me the news just now is ‘pls tell me it’s not Conte’.

    Good luck Julen.

    My preference is Tite.

Anyways, let's see what his stint as Spain manager has helped him grow.

I don't think he is a bad appointment but the timing is horrible and I feel like if things blow up in the Spain camp the next couple of weeks he will bring that baggage with him to Madrid.

I can't imagine Flo is thrilled with having to make the "quickie" announcement to stay ahead of the press but Flo isn't the one who's going to be answering questions about his next job in the middle of coaching at the World Cup.

He needs to get Spain to the semifinals. Anything after that would be bonus.

Many far worse choices, few if any better ones. I'm good with this.

Interesting that he spent some time at Barca. But seems he's a Madridista at heart.

Navas is always in danger no matter who comes in.. This anti-Navas campaign from the Spanish press will never end until he leaves the club.

    LOL

Feeling optimistic. Like others said, there were far worse choices.
    Good decision by Club. Welcome!

Welcome! good choice imo, his style suits our players really well, considering Bale is on his way out, i wonder if he'll play Benz and Cr7 (if he stays) together, or playing only one at CF spot

I know someone who is not going to like him.. Cristiano.
Lopetegui said recently that Messi is the best player in history.
