In terms of record regardless of the teams they're coaching, yes. Is Zidane winning anything with Tottenham? No. So basically it's an even situation.
BREAKING: Representatives of Tottenham and Jose Mourinho are this evening locked in negotiations for the Portuguese to replace Mauricio Pochettino.— Sky Sports News (@SkySportsNews) November 19, 2019
Eh? Zidane has won three Champions Leagues with Madrid, which Poch will never match. Poch has won zero trophies with Spurs, which both Zidane and myself have also matched already. How's that even? It's always fantastic to watch Mou coach a team that you don't support.
So glad. This was the most boring International break. No more national team break until March 23rd. That means:125 days.3000 hours.10 800 000 seconds.Enjoy pic.twitter.com/NiRLJnnXbv— Siavoush Fallahi (@SiavoushF) November 19, 2019
Using the 3 CL trophies as a weapon, Zidane is the greatest coach in the history of European football. How many coaches have won three consecutive CL trophies? None. So by default nobody has ever been as good of a coach as Zidane. Sound logic.
A) I don't think zidane will or should be sacked B) I think Poch will be gone in the rare event that Zidane is fired.
Wtf, Mou to Spurs rumor heating up. I hope he realizes Levy isn't going to be spending he is use to teams spending.
In any consecutive 3 years, no coach has ever done what Zidane was able to do. Ever. And no coach will probrably match Zidanes success in any 3 consecutive years. These are just facts. Having said this, you can easily say Zidane is te greatest coach of CL football, as you can easily say he is not for many other reasons.
I think Zidane is an incredible man manager and I still have some questions about his tactical acumen. In any case glad he's here and hoping we win something this season.
Only Zidane, Paisley and Ancelotti have won 3 European Cups/CLs as a coach. So you could say he's the best coach in CL history already. And if he wins another, it'd be an unprecedented achievement. And other two won with big clubs as well. Shankly took Liverpool to the top before Paisley.
I’m glad to see Mou join a team, not because I’m a fan of his but because it means he won’t join us if things go wrong.
Good point, didn’t look at it like that, so, just in case, hope he gets the job and all the best of luck to him at Spurs
Mourinho at Spurs would be a curious fit. Levy promising some spending? I wonder how Mou would alter the lineup. He probably would want to bench all of the players on the cusp of leaving, but the depth may be lacking in quality for him to do that. Kane would probably be good in a Mou system. Big stocky striker with some hold up play. However, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Harry might want out now. something tells me Mou wouldn’t like a player like Dele Alli who is probably lazy tracking back and undisciplined positionally
Apparently, Mou has reached an agreement. I'll tell you one thing, this might actually work out for Spurs, he seems to thrive in the underdog role where he is bigger than the club. But even if it doesn't, it sure is fun for the football world, so long as he's not at your club.
They need to take that next step to win trophies, and he is perfect for that if you give him what he needs (and live with his quarks). Could be a disaster or a masterstroke, either way someone like Jose should not jobless.
Moreno says he feels betrayed and I get that but at the same time, when he took on the job, I believe he said he'd be glad if Luis Enrique returns. Hm.
Club statement— Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) November 20, 2019 It’s official. The Special One is back Mou to Madrid rumors will finally stop. https://t.co/sVsfGNumqo— Managing Madrid (@managingmadrid) November 20, 2019
Mou is gonna take the Spurs to the next level. I believe that Amazon is in the middle of filming a documentary about them and all this drama is gonna be pretty interesting to watch. I mean the head coach getting sacked and Mourinho being hired... the people filming that documentary must be celebrating right now .
Totally Alli will be benched or sold. Lo Celso will now play more I reckon, Dier with Wanyama/NDombele in a midfield pivot
This is going to be very interesting. I maintain that Poch is not that great of a coach, even though he shouldn’t bear the whole blame for what happened this season. But is Mourinho the solution? Taking into account that this is a 50% players attitude problem, I doubt that Mou can be the long term solution... but I have my doubts even in the short term.
