If Ferland becomes a regular starter at Madrid, he would have a decent chance at becoming the starting LB for France as well.
I doubt it really Lucas Hernandez is miles above Mendy. Lucas Hernandez playing for France after waiting a call from Spain till March 2018 changed everything for french team that was weak on both back sides before his arrival. But Ndombele seems really to have the level and shoulders to challenge these midfelders, especially Pogba and Matuidi's roles.
