Nervy stuff on their free kick. But our backline did exactly as drilled, and caught 4 of them offside. But until VAR comes in next season, I'm always gonna think that's slightly risky defensive tactics. Depends 100% on a linesman to get the hardest call in the game just right.
Fulham at sixes and sevens. Laca has a free whack. And buries it for 2-0! PHEW Edit: I didn't give us enough credit for our beautiful quick link passing. Well done.
AK47 enters the game. God knows he wont be taking any more PK's as long as Mitro is still on the pitch.
It's interesting how high Guendouzi plays when we are on defense. It's almost as if Emery has given him free license to go into the forward line to go get the ball.
Okay, back from quick break to see a local band in the Rose Parade. Saw the 2nd goal. Glad the team is looking more in control.
Mitrovic should've put that one away. Edit: Kamara pulls one back for Fulham a minute later. Thought Toreira was fouled before that.
The difference in how much physical play various referees are willing to let go is one of the most ridiculous things about the Premier League.
There seems to be a growing trend of Torreira giving the ball up in very dangerous spot, and the other team pouncing for a goal. I love this guy but he needs to clean that up. Win his 50/50's in those areas. Not give it away cheaply. Not get out muscled off the ball, which is what happened in this case.
I'm excited to see where Guen is at in 3-4 years. The offense tries to go through him too much and he's not quit there , but he shows such flashes of brilliance. Those turns he does are fantastic.
Nicely finished by Ramsey there. They gave Kolasinac a lot of space in the corner of the box to start that play.
If we win this game, I say we give a great big New Year's Day thanks to our youngster trio on the pitch: Iwobi, Maitland-Niles & Guendouzi. They all stepped up today and justified their selection in our XI
