I mean, I was only half-joking there but, considering how well Howe has managed Bournemouth and it seems that Emery either doesn't understand or doesn't get the English game, if he's going to be replaced why not someone that's cut his teeth at this level with a club who doesn't have the level of resources that Arsenal do but still impress week to week?
Wow that match was intense and very disspointing. The crowd today was on one today. Booing Xhaka then Xhaka giving it to the fans. Singing the praises of Mesut Ozil which was a big middle finger to Emery imo. Blowing a 2-0 lead will put Emery under even more intense pressure and rightfully so. We were unlucky because VAR or the ref or both really screwed us. No way that was a foul on Chambers. This felt like a loss.
Howe could probably get us top 4 this season, but that would be as far as he could take us, and I wouldn't bet on him getting 4th in the future.
Considering how Chelsea got Lampard from a Championship side and they've improved week-to-week, Howe isn't the worst possible choice and he might surprise people.
The list of guaranteed winning managers is extremely short and with each match Arsenal is less and less attractive to those types. Sooner or later Arsenal will have to take a risk on someone as a manager. The catch is getting the club to demand someone who endows hustle from the players and gets them to actually work to improve upon mistakes.
Same old shit crap old Cnut of a red, disallowed legit goal (check the monitor u ancient fcuk) also awful play, xhaka is useless and holding has to start over one of the two clowns at cb We need hector back, some kind of midfield and to stop playing auba as a lw Pepe at least has come good but the rest of the team stinks emery out, ozil in
Seriously though, he's done well all things considered. Bigger profile club, more resources, more talent, nice academy that's produced some talent, who knows...
Plays organised and attacking football and has got Bournemouth promoted 2 divisions playing the best football seen in the championship for years
Ozil is not really an issue. We scored twice without him. It's Emery's selections in midfield and defence that is really screwing us over.
This team has gone from hopeful in the summer to a complete mess before the end of October. amazing. Emery is hopeless.
I'm in polite company and quietly fuming, I might watch Arsenal TV in the toilet. At home? It's disgusting.
This. That should be solidly unacceptable to a club with the resources and pedigree of Arsenal, let alone indicative of the new normal for the club over the past several seasons. Yet somehow the team has contrived to view it as passable. Utter bulls***. What's worse is nary a player is showing the character to step up and call this out. We've long passed the generic "No one likes to lose" stuff and are now deep into the need to call everyone out and set out clear expectations that the team needs to win.
3rd place at the international break. 1 point from Sheffield and Palace. Now in 5th place and 4 points out of 4th.
That has to be a joke. There’s no way he actually said that... I mean... He’s gone tomorrow, right? Right??!
This is surreal: Alex Lacazette openly liking an Instagram post wanting Emery and Xhaka out. They need to do a Netflix Doc about this Club De Football. pic.twitter.com/i7glekjWZa— AFCAMDEN (@AFCAMDEN) October 27, 2019 Yeah, Emery has to be gone. Players are in open revolt at this point.
One thing that really jumps out at me about the Ozil situation is that you can really only pull of something like that if you're winning. Says a lot about Emery that he doubled down.
VAR is the dumbest timeline Rugby TMO is so much better Jarred Gillett was VAR official today. Never reffed a PL game. Has reffed 9 Football League games (and 2 Carabao Cup). That decision was a farce, as is the lack of explanation as to why the referee was overruled. Surely we have to hear the conversation like in cricket/rugby?— Charles Watts (@charles_watts) October 27, 2019
