Just ugly all around. I don't think AMN had 1 good moment on the ball today. I understand why Xhaka is at fullback some matches now... Strap in boys!!
Nearly 70 percent possession and just 7 shots, most from long balls played over the top. A midfield of Guendouzi, Xhaka, and Torreira, can play long balls, but otherwise they just aren't creative enough. If they are going to continue to play like this, I'm going to stop watching.
I am quite calm! Spent boxing day nearly completing my roof insulation project. Only 10% left to do Now for some champagne and basking in 26C internal temperatures (this cottage used to be cold as feck) Was hoping to stream the game but the 4G is playing up and have to compete against the kids streams on ropey internet out in the country side doesn't sound like i missed much
This time Emery's subs seem to have had a negative impact on the game. Arsenal only had one shot in the second half.
Well, at least Torreira will be available for our match away to Liverpool, that is gonna be HUGE for us, you know Jurgen Klopp is gonna put in his "Big 3", Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane, they pretty much had it too easy this morning, and I also have a feeling that we will be donning our third kits (the turquoise ones), as Liverpool will be wearing their all red strip then, so no chance of us wearing either what we wore today or the home ones (obviously). COYF'n'G!!!
Same old arsenal Poor subs from Emery and the defending of counters is is bad as wenger era We need to change the shape
The defending is so horrible at times that I forget that I am watching professional players. There have been very few well executed goals against us this year. Most of them are due to our mistakes and/or cartoonish decision-making.
When is the last time we scored from a free kick? We don’t do enough with any stopped ball situations.
Actually, Arsenal have scored 6 goals from set pieces this season, only 4 teams have scored more, Liverpool, Tottenham, United, and Everton. I didn't find a breakdown on goals from corners v free kicks.
Iwobi was surely subpar, even for him. Laca coming off was a shame, but I assumed it was with an eye towards Anfield. Our preparedness and shape for their blitzkreig counterattack goal was awful (and discussed at length above). And after Kos came off (also rotational I guess, because of his # of mins after just coming back), didn't we change shape to 3 at back and do a little better? I just wish Emery had made a tactical change earlier in the match, to give it a better chance of bearing fruit.
