Tiny Desk Concerts are, collectively, a national treasure. There's lots to love in there, and I am amazed again and again at what I encounter. They get mentioned from time to time in one thread or another, but let's try a thread of their own. What's amazed you lately?
Tonight while grading papers, I listened to the IDLES concert. And then stopped grading to watch them the second time through. It's not a punk band (they vehemently protest) but their music has some of those elements, and are somehow joyful in their protest. I didn't expect to like it, but I am about to go through it a third time.
I discovered this band recently through their recorded works, but the fact that they can pull this stuff off live makes me like them even more.
