A year after not having a team in the College Cup, the ACC is guaranteed a team in the national title game as both Virginia and Wake Forest advanced to the SFs, beating SMU and UCSB, respectively.

The Cavs and Deacs will meet in one SF next Friday in (appropriately) Cary, NC and Georgetown and Stanford will meet in the other.

It's the 18th time this decade the ACC had a team in the College Cup and the 31st time this decade that an ACC team has made the Cup. That's an average of 1.5 teams a year.

The ACC has not, however, had a national champion since 2014, one of the longer stretches for the conference since the early 80s. Since Clemson won in 84, the only longer streak for the ACC without an ACC title was between 95 and 01.

Will this streak end in Cary? Tough to say. Georgetown is probably playing the best soccer in the NCAA Tournament and Stanford is a veteran team that knows how to get it done at the Cup. It won't be easy.
