Not sure if this is directed at me or not, but I certainly get all of this. I was just pointing out that changes in viewer numbers due to cord cutting wasn't relative to my point.
It wasn’t point at you, but you got the gremlins in my head turning. Just putting it out here on the record
Your assertion is right ESPN last year averaged 241k linear and 53k through out of home viewing for a total of delivered MLS audience average of 294k.
DCU v LAFC FOX 341K Apr 6 Sat 3pm Anyway you wanna cut it not a good number for a game on FOX. Blowout didn't help.

And it got outperformed by its lead-in programming (Bayern v Dortmund) by a statistically-significant margin (470k to 341k). In past seasons (IIRC), MLS sometimes held and even improved total audience #s when FOX aired a Bundesliga lead-in.
You are right that game was a blowout which would have suppressed any lead in number. Then this game was a blowout and was really over by halftime. However this should at least got 450k. Don't have the Deportes numbers yet but still. They won't be anymore than 100k additional.

I've got no idea. Ok, so either or. Basically, these communities have not caught on to streaming MLS games.
That still counts as a stream doesn't it? I have a satellite subscription but I don't always view the games on my TV box...if I'm out and about, at someone's else house or watching where a TV isn't handy then I'll usually stream it.
Due to the Avalanche and Nuggets both having playoff games tomorrow night the only available live coverage of tomorrow night's Rapids-DC match at the Dick will be online streams, both video and audio (since DC's video coverage is online only): Broadcasting update: Tomorrow's game will only be available on https://t.co/UmgZH6KuIF.📝 https://t.co/ypV1i5a1pN#Rapids96 | #Elevate pic.twitter.com/YnlTnSIlgy— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) April 12, 2019
So, if the rumor that MLS is going all ESPN+ with the next TV deal, do we have to admit that MLS has firmly decided to stay in the niche? Streaming is the future, but it's not like it was the NFL, NBA, or even MLB that signed this kind of deal first...
