United must ask themselves if what we're seeing now is what they want from the club going forward. https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...ockettino-vision-watford-defeat-a9257476.html
Top 4 back on again. This season is so flip-flop, yo-yo, seesaw, bipolar, that no one knows what to expect any more.United could get top 4, then again they could get 10th. Haven’t the foggiest anymore!— The United Stand (@UnitedStandMUFC) December 27, 2019
With McT hurt but Pogba back, I think we can expect to see Matic play 6 again with Fred also getting time there. I think AP and Pogba will split 8 with Mata, Lingard and AP at 10. I hope Garner and Levitt will see some time. I would expect it to be Garner at 8 occasionally. I think Levitt should be sent on Loan for the second half of the season.
Rashford and Martial are picking up form 🔥 pic.twitter.com/tKK77iSoch— B/R Football (@brfootball) December 29, 2019 They've stepped it up as we needed them to thus far. Just as important as well, the partnership between the 2 has really blossomed big time as well.
I mean we've seen how Martial being out with injury earlier in the season has (negatively) affected us. With Ole feeling he has to play Rashford centrally for starters, which clearly does not suit him. The understanding between the 2 is becoming also more and more obvious (and very effective as well): becoming a fearsome attacking duo to oppo defenses. Add in James and especially Greenwood and it's pretty clear to see that the attack is a strong point. The thought of adding Sancho to that mix is simply mouthwatering....
I will say, I do love how against Newcastle, Mason got that turnover ball and knew exactly what he wanted to do with it.

somehwat interestingly, at the halfway point of the season in the league we are the 6th highest scorers and have the 6th best defence though we are currently sat in 5th. make of that what you will
That we have a few decent attackers and a few decent defenders despite having no midfield to create or protect
Looking good so far with Rashford and Martial on pace to having the type of season that was expected from them. Greenwood has really been a pleasant surprise: him finishing in double digits, scoring wise would be pretty remarkable for him in his first season of senior football. Imagine if we were somehow able to add Sancho to that mix in the summer. We'd be all but set upfront.
Although the season has been one disappointment after another, we're somehow actually not that far off from where we though we'd be at this stage in terms of the league table. That said, some of the losses in the league have been shocking. Player development has been solid overall, but more established players like Lingard have been woeful and Periera is well short of reasonable expectations.
Genuinely wonder what peoples expectations are of this season in terms of where we should finish? We have finished 7th 4th 5th 6th 2nd 6th since SAF left which is an average of 5th. With a lot out and only 3 in, we started the season with a stronger defence but a weaker attack and a significantly weaker midfield. So what would be a par for this season in terms of a finish?
