https://www.skysports.com/football/...ashford-adds-to-manchester-united-injury-woes Per Ole in his post match presser, he's likely to be lost for a few weeks. Agree with what GNev said about him looking tired: thought the same thing when I saw him hunched over with his hands on his knees around midway in the first half. It appeared odd (way too early it seems for a player to already be knackered), but Rashford is a player who does expand tons of energy when he plays. The claims about Ole not needing to play him vs Astana proved spot on unfortunately. We just have to hope that this enforced shutdown will be beneficial, not only in terms of getting some rest but also will help him to come back to his best (which he simply hasn't been so far this season). Also that Ole will turn more to some of the youngsters to fill the breach as well.
Pogs is good to go for Rochdale. https://www.skysports.com/football/...aul-pogba-fit-to-face-rochdale-in-carabao-cup
Rashford's Behavior really worried me. I thought his body language was totally negative. He appeared to be lacking confidence, energy, and the will to try to win the match. I immediately thought he was either injured or ill the first time they showed him
He looked exhausted in the match vs WH. Very noticeable in the first half when he was waiting for a corner to be taken, he had his hands on his knees and breathing heavy. And he's a guy who does give it his all in every game, from an effort perspective. So having played so much so far, perhaps it's no surprise. On that front, him being out injured could be a blessing in disguise, in terms of recharging his batteries. The hope also is that this break leads him to returning to the player he was when he first broke into the team: he was far more instinctive, loose and let things come to him. It's pretty clear that he appears to be trying too hard nowadays and it's hurt his overall effectiveness.
https://www.skysports.com/football/...eature-for-manchester-united-within-two-weeks Rashford is needed, but he has to be completely fit and healthy. 2wks or thereabouts out is good news provided he's not rushed back.
Bad news on the injury front from Ole in today's presser: Pogba is now a doubt for Monday, having picked up a knock to his ankle vs Rochdale. Martial is out for the next 3gms (on top of Rashford who was already out).
That would be the ideal call in this situation, but it will probably be M&M unfortunately. Edit: Ole once again, it needs to be pointed out, dropped the ball in terms of how he manages his players' health/fitness. It was a surprise to see Pogs going for the full 90 vs Rochdale and obviously it turned out to be a mistake which could cost big.
I predicted this would happen during preseason. But I didn’t think it would happen 2 months into the season.
Would be interesting to know if our fitness department is as stale as our recruitment department given this injury situation has happened under multiple managers.

When you put players through a grueling preseason, ask them to press high and play quick transition, and then fail to rotate them this is what happens. And when you have a super thin squad with no depth, it has a huge impact when you lose a few guys.
Only Rashford's injury could be contributed to overplaying though since he actually played a ton so far this season. Pogba played in 4 games, Martial in 3 with at least 6 days between games.
I agree, but it was also unwise to have Pogba go90 on Wednesday. I'm sure he played the whole game because we were not winning,

Pogba aggravates his injured ankle https://www.espn.co.uk/football/man...er-uniteds-paul-pogba-aggravates-ankle-injury This comes at absolutely no surprise. Ole himself in his press conference Friday already mentioned how Pog's ankle was swollen following the full 90 vs Rochdale. As much as Pogba and Rashford were needed, it really is of little use to have play (especially close to full matches) if they're not close to 100%.

https://www.manchestereveningnews.c...tball-news/man-utd-injury-news-pogba-17033352 Really hope that both Pogs and Martial will be able to return in time for the Pool (Wan-Bissaka is another one as well obviously). Will be difficult enough as it is and missing those 3 will reduce our chances of victory close to zero..
I didn’t think Pogba ankle injury was too serious, but earlier he posted a Instagram video on a stationary bike and he looks like he’s got a hard cast on his ankle and foot.

The news regarding Pogba does not look to be particularly good. It's the DM, but they are claiming that he could be out for the rest of the month. The latest pics/vids from his training in Dubai still show him wearing a protective boot, which would confirm that he won't be ready in a week (despite him claiming 'he's almost there'). And that also comes on the back of reports from L'Equipe suggesting he's suffering from a broken toe. Don't like at all the prospect of facing Pool without him. Really hope that Martial at least will be able to return.
