Can Spurs continue their good form despite their injuries?
I think Chelsea+Arse will still drop points away from home so if we win this weekend I think we could still get 4th but we might get done by GD in the end.

Couldn't agree more with this statement. The sudden outburst of nostalgia for Mourinho simply does not compute. Lest we forget, he was a big part of the problem himself. But the fact remains, our issues run much, much deeper...

Older tweet, but still true today after DDG giveaway (he has failed to keep a cleansheet now for 13 games for club & country).

Yes, we are worse than Huddersfield - let that sink in ....

Do I go here or in the transfer thread for a detailed rant on the roster, on who needs to be let go when, etc.?

    How fit are Manchester United?

    https://www.skysports.com/football/...-gary-neville-questions-romelu-lukaku-fitness

Some of the graphs alone showing the differences in stats between Mourinho and Ole explain why this team is probably out of shape and consistently runs out of gas at some point.
But at the same time, it's something Ole should make provisions for with his sub patterns as best he can, something he hasn't fully come to grips yet. Hopefully, we will see some improvement in both areas after the summer and with new players and the benefit of a full preseason under the squad's belt..

It's only confirmation of what most already knew. Ole tried his best to get the team up to speed and in shape with the week training camp in Dubai earlier in the year, but a week was never enough.
And I get that Ole had his resources limited, particularly during our injury crisis, but he really could have done better himself in some areas. Really hope he's learned some valuable lessons in the past few months.

    Standings:
    Spurs 70 GD+29
    Chelsea 68 +21
    Arse 66 +20
    Man Utd 65 +13

    This weekend's games:
    Saturday:
    Bournemouth-Spurs 12:30pm
    Sunday:
    Huddersfield-ManUtd 2:00pm
    Chelsea-Watford 2:00pm
    Arsenal-Brighton 4:30pm

    Predictions:
Cardiff will draw against Crystal Palace on Saturday so Brighton puts up a good fight against Arse and gets a draw to secure Prem for next year. Spurs will play a much weakened side due to their second leg against Ajax and but hold out for a draw. Chelsea suffers from their Thursday EL hangover and loses against Watford. We'll beat one of the worst ever Prem teams Huddersfield 7-0 to improve our GD. Standings after the weekend:

    Spurs 71 GD+29
    Man Utd 68 +20
    Chelsea 68 +20
    Arse 67 +20

    Sunday May 12 @3pm:
    Spurs-Everton
    Leicester-Chelsea
    Burnley-Arse
    Man Utd-Cardiff

If one of the teams in the Top 4 wins the EL (Chelsea/Arsenal), will the 5th place team in the PL qualify for the CL?

Yes. But also there could be a scenario if Chelsea finished 3rd, us 4th, Spurs 5th, Arse 6th and Arse wins the EL and Spurs the CL, we would not be in the CL even though we finished 4th. Max is 5 teams from any league(when the EL/CL is won by that league)

Wasn't there a scenario several years back when Redknapp was still at Tottenham. Spurs finished 4th, and Chelsea finished 5th but won the CL, thereby preventing Spurs from qualifying? Memories are a funny thing, so I may have that completely wrong.

Top 4 permutations: United’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League virtually resting with Chelsea. If the Blues beat Watford, United will be almost out of the running due to goal difference, even if they beat Huddersfield this afternoon. Arsenal host Brighton later in a game the Gunners will have to win to remain in contention on the season’s final day

I honestly can't think of a single positive to say about this season, the players, or potential heading into next season. Not a single one.

Things aren't going to get better. Well face mass exodus of good players this summer or keep them against their will. Well spend a lot on decent players and it won't help because they'll be surrounded by bad players and a coach that doesn't know what he's doing. Well put some inexperienced guy in a DOF role that has no actual power and nothing will change there. Woody will still be the face and the Glazers will let him because they aren't yet losing money from it. Dumb fans will continue to buy tickets and merch to support it. I'm so done and so frustrated with the same dumb shit being repeated each year and then being surprised at the same results.

well there it is. no more doubts now.

wonderful conundrum. we have a team who isn't good enough to prevent a goal costing mistake over a game and a team that also isn't good enough to recover from one.

worst of all, whatever rebuild happens next is probably the hardest as we have no gems or assets to build on. they are either going to leave/walk (DdG, Herrera) or they haven't been good enough or consistent here (Pogba, Sánchez, Martial)

more or less starting with an empty plot and trying to build the house again
