Will United be title contenders? www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/10970939/manchester-united-201718-season-preview-will-utd-be-premier-league-title-contenders
Let's look at our squad and let's say playing a 4-3-3, how would our full squad look: First Back up1 Back up2 De Gea Romero Pereira Valencia Mensah Varela Jones Smalling Tuanzebe Bailly Lindelof Rojo Darmian Shaw Blind Ashley Young Mitchell CBJ Matic Carrick Herrera Pereira McTominay Pogba Fellaini Martial Lingard Lukaku Rashford James Wilson Mkhitaryan Mata Angel Gomes Bottom line, squad is huge, Mourinho is not used to doing this, he knows nowadays with EPL,UCL,FA cup, League Cup, you need a big squad especially with internationals around the corner. Loan: McTominay Mitchell CBJ Tuanzebe OR Mensah Shaw (If he is third string by January, he is going on loan for the World Cup) Sold: Young Wilson Varela Smalling --> you slot in Rojo as back up with Lindelof partnering
A reasonable analysis by Le Tiss. But let's see where we all are by the close of the transfer window before going with predictions.

The team is ready for the upcoming season, according to Jose. www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/10980591/jose-mourinho-says-manchester-united-will-go-for-everything-this-season Jose's comments about the group and how he feels about them is what's really interesting here. He appears to be happy and content and a Mourinho in that state can only be good for United and could trouble for just about anyone else in the league at least. Let's hope it stays that way.
Speak for yourself (and a few others, I guess). Not everyone is all about the "doom and gloom" and Jose apparently being happy now puts a smile on my face because it sounds like he's got a plan. Very confident, if nothing else, that United will have their say on where the title ends up and will be in the mix...

Sadly, The only position we're not worried about 👐 Healthy competition for a place between the posts - here are three first-team keepers we'll call upon in 2017/18: https://t.co/h5XUP5KBFx pic.twitter.com/4ct4ISf1qy— Manchester United (@ManUtd) August 9, 2017
I'm excited. We aren't where we need to be yet, but I'm hopeful that we have added a striker who will help us in the league, we have added a much needed 6 and we have some more depth at CB. At the same time, Rashford and Martial are a year older and both gave reason to be confident in their progression. I'm optimistic in general. Going to try and enjoy the season and not bitch too much. My life isn't so bad and neither is United.
With the EPL due to start tomorrow, this is the bookies odds for the title which makes interesting reading; Manchester City - 15/8 Chelsea - 7/2 Manchester United - 4/1 Tottenham - 10/1 Arsenal - 12/1 Liverpool - 12/1 Everton - 80/1 Leicester - 300/1 Southampton - 500/1 West Ham - 500/1 Newcastle - 750/1 Bournemouth - 1000/1 Crystal Palace - 1000/1 Stoke - 1000/1 Swansea - 1000/1 Watford - 1000/1 West Brom - 1000/1 Brighton - 1500/1 Burnley - 2000/1 Huddersfield - 2500/1
Unless we see big improvements in goals from the likes of Rashford/Miki/Martial we are not going to win the Prem this season. We also need Pogba to take over games when the going gets tough and perform to the capabilities that we expect him to e.g. he was poor the other night against Real. Expect a lot of 1-0 and narrow 2-1 drab wins this season against the minnows and bunkering for 0-0 against the bigger teams which I predict will come off about half the time. We'll be more competitive if not challenging for the Prem title this year. I predict a higher point total this year, probably about 78 points, good enough for 3rd behind Chelsea and Man City. Arse 4th, Everton 5th, Spurs 6th. We'll exit the CL at QF stage to one of Bayern/Real/Barca. LC/FAC who cares.

It's all about the start as we well know. And poor starts have been a contributor to our varying poor seasons, post SAF campaigns so far. West Ham at home, Swansea on the road and then Leicester at OT this month. 9pts is really not too much to ask and this is what should be expected from the team going into September.
