There is negotiable space between freely moving and indiscriminate transferring (is speed-dating a thing?).
If you know who takes the ND job, we are all F’d!!! What is the distance between Kalamazoo and South Bend?
Having a son in the middle of the recruiting cycle I appreciate this post. Sort of makes me feel like I am not insane in any overthinking of this or that. Granted I still could be insane.
That's a good hire, IMO. He did a really good job as HC at Dartmouth before joining the Union organization and he obviously brings a LOT of connections to the elite youth programs in Eastern PA. Union has a pretty good academy and I imagine PSU will start to get more kids from there.
Four current D1 head coaches have now turned down the SLU job. The SLU administration is set on hiring a head coach, maybe they should look at an assistant coach with a good resume instead.
I think this is current. As always, additions and corrections welcome. DePAUL – Craig Blazer, asked not to return; Mark Plotkin, Colgate assistant. GONZAGA – Einar Thorarinsson, retired; NOTRE DAME – Bobby Clark, retired; PENN STATE – Bob Warming, retired; Jeff Cook, Philadelphia Union academy coach. OREGON STATE – Steve Simmons, contract not renewed; Terry Boss, Virginia assistant. TEMPLE – Dave MacWilliams, contract not renewed; Brian Rowland, Maryland assistant. St. FRANCIS (PA) – Paulo Neto, not sure what happened; SAINT LOUIS – Mike McGinty, contract not renewed; SAN DIEGO – Seamus McFadden, retired; Brian Quinn, assistant coach, promoted. SETON HALL – Gerson Echeverry, resigned; Andreas Lindberg, CW Post head coach.

Anybody know what's going on at Notre Dame ? Thought they would have announced by now. I thought Chad Riley was the guy ?
I did not even know that Kyle Gookins had resigned, but apparently he did so in November, just after being named Atlantic Sun coach of the year. (Odd.) Here's the official Neagu announcement. http://www.gohatters.com/news/2018/1/4/neagu-named-mens-soccer-head-coach.aspx
DARTMOUTH - Chad Riley, resigned; DePAUL – Craig Blazer, asked not to return; Mark Plotkin, Colgate assistant. GONZAGA – Einar Thorarinsson, retired; NOTRE DAME – Bobby Clark, retired; Chad Riley, Dartmouth head coach. PENN STATE – Bob Warming, retired; Jeff Cook, Philadelphia Union academy coach. OREGON STATE – Steve Simmons, contract not renewed; Terry Boss, Virginia assistant. TEMPLE – Dave MacWilliams, contract not renewed; Brian Rowland, Maryland assistant. St. FRANCIS (PA) – Paulo Neto, not sure what happened; SAINT LOUIS – Mike McGinty, contract not renewed; SAN DIEGO – Seamus McFadden, retired; Brian Quinn, assistant coach, promoted. SETON HALL – Gerson Echeverry, resigned; Andreas Lindberg, CW Post head coach STETSON - Kyle Gookins, resigned; Cristian Neagu, UNC assistant coach. Two former Dartmouth head coaches hired at a power conference job. I imagine that will make the Dartmouth opening pretty appealing to an up-and-coming coach. And I won't be at all surprised if it's someone from Bobby Clark's coaching tree. Meanwhile, three assistants from power programs - Maryland, UVa and North Carolina - all got head coaching jobs. That never hurts to be associated with.
Very Surprised to see Chad Riley as the new Notre Dame coach, but he does technically fall under the Bobby Clark umbrella. I think that Wake assistant, Dane Brenner, would be a good pick to fill the Dartmouth void. Being an assistant for 4 years at UConn gives him some experience up in the northeast. Edit: I wasn't aware that Chad Riley played at Notre Dame. This pick makes a lot of sense now.
