I'm aware that this is an environment where people are free to say whatever they want, regardless of how ridiculous it may be. You and I have different definitions of failure, it seems.
Plus he's 26. He can take a nice turn. If a bum like Maza can turn his career around and be an important player. I'll never doubt Reyes..
To me, if Diego Reyes was much more consistent in his earlier years and had better decision making in where he played, could’ve been as good or even better than Varane. Therefore in my eyes he was a failure. Definitely still could unravel in his next couple of years and prove he still has it. But right now I’m sure he’s going back to liga mx. .
I think it would be accurate to say that his career has stalled a bit over this past season. It would also be accurate to call into question the fact that for whatever reason, he was never really able to establish himself as a starter at Porto but it requires a certain acrobatic ability to go from the above statement to leap into "he's a failure" territory.
It depends. If we were to analyze his career trajectory, it's more than clear he never lived up to expectations. From Barca to Spurs to a myriad of loans to finally settling while in Spain again with Mallorca and Villarreal only to end up in MLS when he was entering his prime. As a fan of the Mexican NT first and foremost, I can't see how you could call him a failure. I'm not going to rehash what he has done while with the NT but he was an extremely influential player for the majority of his career with Mexico.
Gio is a huge disappointment more than anything Dude was very inconsistent in club level. Did well with the NT up until 2015
Gio only failed in Tottenham and when he quit in Galaxy. Of course a lot of people can't get past that so they paint everything as failure as if Mexico had this bunch of euros who did great when that's not true.
Just because this is an environment where people are free to say whatever they want, doesn’t mean it won’t sound ridiculous. You and I have different definitions of what a bum is, it seems. Maza had a solid career, while Reyes has been awful as of late.
You right Imma clear it up.. When Maza left a clumsy bum to Europe and was molded into very solid professional with skills. I was shocked. Maza had a real decent career. Key figure in America's run for a Championship post European career..
In the context of youth prospects panning out, Reyes panned out. A much more heartbreaking example of a failed prospect would be Chaton and that was an U23 squad where careers are much more predictable.
La experiencia y roce durante su tiempo en Chivas fue fundemental para hacer el brinco hacia Europa. At this point in his career, Reyes will not be half the player Maza was.
Oh that's a good comparison. TBD as Reyes 26. Half the career is true as Reyes is no where near done. Maza left at 27 to PSV with a Chibas title in hand. Same as Reyes..
Im sure nica is assisting George RR Martin finishing with winds of winter and a dream of spring...hold up y'all
