What tournaments? Also, a lot of our better prospects go under the radar when it comes to the youth national team.
The college players usually are solid, but nothing more. They are the equivalent of the Mexican Liga MX players that don't cap ever because their level is solid only for the league. The only players that might actually grow into great players are the academy players that start from super young.
A Chicago reporter asked Bastian Schweinstiger if his addition will help the Fire win the CWC. A bunch of dummies derided that reporter because they didn't know the CWC existed, which means they weren't real football fans to begin with. The guy I quoted was one of em, he's oblivious to 50 years of intercontinental history. Some of his replies informed him, but some were just as dumb as him.
.@FCDallas has this kid named @PaxiPomy. He's only 17. But he's already drawing comparisons to Lionel MessiThat's some serious company... pic.twitter.com/8R6ftPNbtA— Mike Leslie (@MikeLeslieWFAA) May 4, 2017 Pendejos for real lol
True, but did he mean the NTWC. There's no way a reporter could be that dumb, even non fans know the Fire can't win the NTWC. That's why they gave him the benefit of the doubt.
But if he did mean the CWC, it's still a ridiculous question. Chicago isn't competing in the 2017-18 concacaf champions league. There's no chance for them to even play in a CWC.
And it's not like he tried to recover like, "oh, no I meant the club World Cup." He just sat there like it was a legit question. And again, if he was understanding of what the CWC was, he wouldn't have asked because Chicago will not be anywhere near playing in one while Bastien is there.

That's weird, all the US journalists that threw a party last week are quiet all of a sudden on twitter
