A couple of Wolves fans have been arrested for (alleged) homophobic abuse. https://www.skysports.com/football/...sted-at-brighton-for-alleged-homophobic-abuse
This is kind of massive... That would include the Euros next year, which they just qualified for recently.

But the issue of statewide and sponsored doping in Russia has been well known for years and they had it coming. Apparently, the athletes who can prove they had nothing to do with this, will be able to compete (still remains to be seen how that will be established though).
That's happened before, they have protocol. They just compete without a nation state. Odd I know, but it has happened, many times. For example, Russia was banned from last winter Olympics.
You are right. I had forgotten about this. Will take your word about the winter Olympics ban since I don't remember this specifically
In other news, Marcelino (the former Villareal and Valencia manager) appears to be the new favorite to become Arsenal's next manager, with him apparently being in London now for talks over the job. An interesting candidate but it does make you wonder whether he'd be a good fit for that team. Would almost feel like continuing on what Arsenal tried to get away from with Emery on some level. And imagine he would be seen as a very underwhelming hire by the fanbase. Speaking of Emery, he is said to be in the running now for the Everton job. Vitor Pereira and Moyes are also strong candidates as well.
Good lineup selected by Freddie today for Arsenal's game vs WH. If he can't get a result today with this group, then it probably will be in the club's best interest to find another guy (even a temporary one) ASAP. Almost the best team they can field right now imo.
The problem still resides in the coaching (or obviously lack thereof). The defense is awful, no arguments there. But there is enough quality in other areas of the pitch that they should look much better than they have. The problem in midfield and upfront is not in the personnel but obviously in the poor tactical plan currently in place.
The obvious change from my point of view, would be to take Xhaka out (he does or provide nothing out there) and bring Guendouzi on. That might have the benefit of helping Ozil get into the game. And also improve the service to the front guys, which has been inexistent so far. Ceballos would be another possible option for Xhaka but he's not even on the bench by the looks of it.
That Martinelli kid is good: really like the look of him. Great but from Arsenal, if we're being honest.
