You're really being over dramatic but ok. Substantial investment in your backline alone will see you significantly better. Upgrade seriously in that area and the rest is more than passable, decent even.
And you also have what looks like a competent enough manager: that counts for something.

I believe we're more or less in the same boat right now because both teams have good pieces and if we had owners who actually gave a shit and put serious money into the clubs, both our situations would improve quite a bit.
As it is, we're looking at 2 once great teams, dying slowly but surely. Not too long, we were the standard bearers of English football. And look at us now...

And Martinelli makes it 1-1... Love Gunwood, but this kid is special as well. Really like him as well.

Arsenal, predictably, can't hold on: Chelsea retake the lead via Azpi...

And Arsenal come back again. Great finish from Bellerin and it's 2-2. 2mins and change left. Let's hope they can hold now. Entertaining game in all honesty.

Another 2 big points dropped by Chelsea, thanks to Arsenal who showed great spirit despite going down to 10 men early in the contest.
Holding onto to 4th by just 6pts.

Looking like Inter are going to have themselves one heck of a window, adding quality and depth to a pretty solid squad already.
Closed already on AY and Victor Moses. And they're getting close reportedly on Eriksen as well.

Let's hope it's enough for them to snatch the Scudetto away from Juve. Better hope we don't meet them in the EL. Really have this nagging feeling that it might be inevitable...

Martinelli came to trials and trained with us 4 times and we rejected him, even lined up alongside Mason and had pictures taken with Pogs etc.

Lol... Makes you wonder what he might have done wrong to have 4 trials and not convincing us. I get that (young) players can develop practically overnight, change physically etc... but this is interesting.

Interesting move from Bayern taking on Real Madrid's Odriozola on loan for the remainder of the season, even if truth be told, their situation at the back is pretty dire.

If Real are in the mood to deal, maybe we should look into taking Jovic on loan from them. Just throwing it out there, with our situation upfront looking somewhat bleak as well right now.

He apparently wants out of Arsenal (not that I blame since he hasn't played since November). He started well enough for them though.
As difficult as it may sounds, I'd absolutely take him on loan right now, if there was a realistic way to make it happen. Don't think that motivation would be a problem for him either at this point.

If Woodward fudges the Fernandes deal, which is looking more and more likely unfortunately, Ceballos would be a good alternative. He'd surely get the games he desperately wants. And as previously noted, he certainly would have all the motivation he needs, to do very well, even on a short term deal.

He hasn't worked out with Arsenal but his quality is well known. And that's why he'd be worth taking a punt on, on a loan deal. Would be an intriguing alternative to me, particularly if the Fernandes deal falls thru.
Don't see it happening unfortunately regardless but he could be an answer to our creative issues in midfield...

He definitely is. He's just emblematic of the state of Arsenal this season. He was a better prospect than Fabian Ruiz.

Holy shit I completely forgot Dani Ceballos was playing in the PL this season.

I hope he comes good in the second half of the season.

Sancho is having himself another terrific game so far today. He's really kicked it up another notch or 2 this term : he's already clocked 14 goals and 14 assists in all comps with Dortmund.

Oh yeah, Haaland scored again as well.

Make that 2: and he came on as a sub in the 65th min.

Hasn't played a full match worth in 2 appearances (57mins total), yet has already scored 5 goals. Haaland is a scoring machine.

Ceballos is not quick, not good at winning the ball back, his passing is hit and miss

but that was under emery. I’m not sure he can play 10 but I would t of mi fed seeing him in a 3

I just don’t see the hype but arsenal have been dysfunctional

Like Fernandes, Ceballos is prototypical 8/10 who can play different roles, given the setup he's in. He's a very good carrier, has stamina and is very press resistant, which makes him a very good as an 8 in a mid 3.
Conversely, he's a very clever passer and creator, who has the ability to unlock defenses and set up opportunities for those around him as well and he's good at pressing himself. Those are qualities that make him suited to play the 10, if required.
The fact that things did not work out for him under Emery is not real indicator of his quality as far as I'm concerned. We just need to look at how Toreira struggled mightily under him in the latter part of his reign.
I'd have absolutely no qualms in taking him on loan to our team right now, if it were feasible. He's a competitor too, who is hungry for success and his setback at Arsenal is sure to only feed his fire. I can see him doing very well wherever he lands next.
