There were doubts amongst some about his true abilities, I get that, but honestly there was very little to actually back those thoughts up in light of his accomplishments, and given how good that team was in his first run. The difference since his return has not been just notable, but just scary as well. A drop off could rightfully be expected but not to the extent we're seeing now (for me personally at least).
Never go back in life, only forward. It never really works out. Once either chooses to leave or is forced out of somewhere for a reason.
Does anyone think Liverpool can build an era of dominance? Maybe dominate the EPL similar to how we did at one point? I thought City would have a shot at it but they have a bit of a wobble recently but still not ruling them out.
No. Klopp wont make it another 5 years. I dont think hes a longer term bet, hes too intense. And hes so much of their foundation right now.
Klopp has already hinted he will be taking a sabbatical following his current contract, which I believe runs out in 2022. And I believe him too (ie not some ploy on his part). As noted above, he's the really intense, (over) committed type and burnout seems inevitable at some point (same applies with Pep btw). For the foreseeable future though, still think that City has the better chance to establish some kind of dynasty over Pool. And it's mainly because of their money: their spending is unmatched in Europe and it's starting to show also: they're currently short their 2 main CBs and a top attacking player (Sane) and odds are they'll weather that storm somehow because they have so many talented players to call upon (that's the reason for their wobble right now). Having one of the best managers in the business doesn't hurt either of course. The key for them, just as is the case for Pool, and how they can sustain their current dominance will be how they replace the managers currently in place. City are still the strongest bet for me at this time to sustain an extended period of dominance over the long term: what we're seeing now is not fatal in terms of being the precursor of some fall. Not yet at least..
Have often felt Zidane over-rated. With Pep you wondered if he could.do it away from the Barca team he had, but at that time you could at least identify his concepts and structure. Zidane teams you never really could identify his ethos. This post sums it up for me - his current teams lack structure and cohesion. 1174435940288409602 is not a valid tweet id
Idrissa Gueye's all-around midfield performance earned the @rioferdy5 seal of approval 🙌 pic.twitter.com/mdwu390YLz— Football on TNT Sports (@footballontnt) September 18, 2019 Agree 100% with Rio there: he was amazing last night. The only reason I was not favor of us going after him was because of his age, but he is really the type of midfielder we need. He'd be the perfect foil for Pogs in midfield 2. He covers so much ground and works non stop (very reminiscent of Kante, as a matter of fact). Really be a difference maker in terms of PSG's European fortunes, should he manage to keep this up.
video was doctored. it was first played in slow motion to lengthen some actions and then sped up /cut to shorten others.
Spurs have been poor so far vs Leicester but they take the lead nonetheless after a very nice Kane goal.
Apparently if Spurs can hold on and win, will be their first EPL away win for 8 months - last EPL away win was at Fulham on 20th Jan.
Pereira giving Leicester a lifeline. 1-1, with still 20+ mins to go. Maddison makes it 2-1. This game has gone away from Spurs, thought they were well in control, until Aurier's goal was taken back. Crazy turnaround for Leicester. Good game this.
Big fan of Maddison, makes it 2-1 with a good shot from distance. Love his set-piece delivery too, something we are sorely lacking. Spurs away game issues continue.
Spurs will feel hard done by in this one. This is the offside decision which took away Aurier's goal that had them 0-2 up.
Levy is unlikely to fire Poch anytime soon, which means that if Real want him they'll have to pay thru the nose to get him. And under those circumstances a Mourinho return to Madrid appears far more likely should ZZ steps down/gets fired. A lot of fans and more to the point, Perez still hold him in high regard apparently. And it's not too hard to imagine them thinking he'd be the one capable of stabilizing things for that team (not that I necessarily but that notion).
I'm going to be freaking pissed if Baldiola doesn't bring on Sterling in the 2nd half. He's my capt in fpl for f's sake.
Unless he brings him on right away to start the 2nd half, would actually prefer it if he kept him out entirely. And let the vice captain get a better shot at the skipper bonus. Better that than Sterling coming on for a token appearance and getting a measly 2pt, if he does not record a goal or assist.
