Well, the Energy posted on FB that a major announcement is coming today. Maybe he dealt the lease to them? I can't think what major announcement beyond a stadium deal they could have.
Yea, I noticed that disappeared several weeks ago. Don't know how long it has been gone. Weird thing is, the Spanish language one is still there.
Rumor on another board is that they bought the land east of the Downtown Airpark from Chesapeake. We'll see.
Swim? Swammi? Slippy? Slappy? Swenson? Swanson? Samsonite! I was way off! I knew it started with an S, though.
I was making fun of myself for throwing out the rumor I read, and then being waaaaay wrong. So I quoted the movie "Dumb & Dumber". It was just too fun to latch onto the idea of a downtown riverfront stadium.
Yes, the Energy is still a go. Play this season at a small high school stadium, next season at a renovated Taft Stadium that seats 7500(?). Will also be fielding a team in the PDL next season.

Saw this logo on a website, it says these are "leaked name ideas". Do you think it is cool? I though it was the best of the ones on this website. Here are the other logos
Those 4 logos, along with the current Energy logo, were released as potential options by Prodigal. About a week later, this press conference occurred, confirming the selection. You might take your Energy questions & comments to the USL Forum before Soccer Prime sees this thread and suspends your account. Check back Monday 4/7/14. Oklahoma City FC are announcing their new colors & logo for the NASL side.
Thank you C.B., for the Prodigal press release video. The initial marketing strategies for Prodigal are really impressive. Looks as though Bob Funk Jr., has a really savvy personnel team to move the Oklahoma City Energy forward. Following up on the 7,000-seat stadium (multi-use facility) community stadium will be the key. The 2015 NASL will be making its debut. Let's not count them out. Brad Lund (Sold Out Strategies) will probably be in charge of marketing does have the experience necessary for the NASL's success in OKC. Let the stadium race begin...
I am sorry I thought these were possible names for the NASL team and I thought they were cool, so I thought I would share it, does anyone have the NASL team is going to be called?
No worries, just trying to keep you on the good side of the moderators. They run a tight ship. Today is the big press conference where the NASL ownership group will unveil their name, colors, & logo. Looking forward to see what they come up with.
Not rumor anymore - fact. Leonard Sullivan doesn't lie. Now, whether or not the people who bought the land are involved with the team or not is a different issue, but they are a successful developer and the family name on the new land owner is well moneyed and well connected politically in OKC as well as business. While not as ideal perhaps as a dead on downtown, it's a location that is redeveloping in OKC (creep from MAPS across the river) and would make a terrific location to make walk-up/short drive sales to the latino a much better sell than BMHS, and at least as good as Taft
Here's an 8 page thread on what the Humphreys have planned with this Airpark/Waterfront area. If all that development were to magically happen, a nearby stadium could be pretty successful. None of this will happen overnight. http://www.okctalk.com/showwiki.php?title=Downtown Airpark The Waterfront
You probably caused ManuSooner to look for a barf bag... The release of the new NASL logo will be a welcome sight.
