[Focus]— Volksparkwatch (@volksparkwatch) June 21, 2019 Hecking complement Wood’s attitude.
He's done well in the 2.Buli several times. If he can stay healthy there's no reason to believe he won't score there again this season.
I think it's all about the knees - HSV have a very decent B2 side and Wood can contribute at this level, esp with quality around him - if he holds up physically.
Yes, it is only really used among the Hanseatic cities. It comes from the old days when a bale of cotton was thrown from the ship and the sailor would belly flop down on it - flop-sturming the quay - to start his shore leave. It came to mean some other things as well, but they are better left unsaid.
Basically some more lip service from Hecking praising Bobby's attitude in training so far. If you can't dump his salary on a bonehead BL1 sporting director you might as well make use of what you've got, and he was quite dominant his last go-around in BL2. BTW Union signed Anthony Ujah for the upcoming season, so Wood definitely won't be headed that way.
Yeah, Ujah was a Köln fan favorite turned public enemy #1 when his transfer to local rivals Werder was loudly announced by the acquiring club prior to the end of the season, along with this pic:
Werder Bremen are not local rivals to Köln. I’m not sure his public enemy#1. There was a release clause which Werder activated m. The problem was that Werder announced the deal too early for Köln’s liking. Don’t think it’s Ujah’s issue.
Bremen is 320 kilomtres from Cologne, about 3 hours away by road which is an age in European terms. Their local rivals (BL1 & BL2 sides only) are Bayer, Dortmund, Schalke, Fortuna Dusseldorf and 'Gladbach, The 'Gladbach game is known as the Rheinland Derby. Maybe Koln and Bremen are rivals, but the source of the rivalry definitely isn't local proximity.
Yeah, my perception was that the timing and optics of the announcement on social media were what pissed off some of the Köln fans, but I also remember that Ujah himself was surprised and bummed out by the reaction because of the connection he had formed with them. I don't think it's an issue that lasted for long.
Cologne: -- roman-catholic, -- Rhenish, -- carnival, -- outgoing, -- loud, -- Kölsch, -- Rhine-capitalism -- "the shit from the cathedral"
Bremen: -- protestant, -- hanseatic, -- hesitant, -- introvert, -- pils, -- social-democratic, -- constantly broke, -- "what is green and stinks of fish?" Seriously, Bremen only have one true rival
The joke is that in Europe you miss your bus stop, you'll land in a different country where people speak a different language.

Man I hope Bobby stays healthy (spit, salt, knock wood...) and kills it this season. Be nice for him to get a bit of redemption.
Agreed. I don't know why but I have this sneaky hunch Bobby is gonna have one of those years. He comes across as a f*** you ultra competitive type that if healthy thrives on the naysayers.
because I'm under a crazy deadline and the men don't play for hours... Sakai spielt den Ball zu lang und Wood haut ihn vor dem freien Tor drüber. Der HSV ist offiziell zurück aus der Sommerpause. #hsv— Alex (@Vav4ta) June 26, 2019 1143931594308292614 is not a valid tweet id
