Bobby involved in the play that results in a penalty for Wolfsburg. '82 and the penalty is converted. *Bobby doesn't seem to have done anything wrong but it is a penalty nonetheless. Another Hannover play was challenging from behind but it doesn't seem like he did anything wrong either. That's life though.
Wolfsburg's penalty was conceded by Albornoz the left back, who kicked the attacker from behind. Wood was sliding to block the shot on the other side and didn't make contact.
I've been half-watching, but it seems this was one of Bobby's better games, he'll get a 4,0 from Kicker. Brooks is still kind of a tronco.
There are times injuries help a player and they don't take advantage. Looks like Bobby made good use of his opportunity today (although there's no guarantee he wouldn't have started anyway, but H96 were without a lot of choice today.) (important win and buck-strong play from Wood, fwiw.) Wichtiger Sieg und ein bockstarkes Spiel von Wood. 👏🏼 #H96WOB #H96— Moritz_Becker6 (@Becker6Moritz) November 9, 2018
here we have Bobby Wood doing solid hold-up work and John Brooks looking like a kicker in the open field versus Rocket Ismail circa 1990 pic.twitter.com/nju7kI7XlQ— scuffed (@scuffedpod) November 9, 2018
Sad for the dude who left Irvine strikers for the unknowns of Germany, nearly bounced out of 1860 who is now on his second Bundesliga 1 team? Guess it's all relative. From Kirovski to Heydude to Feilhaber and many others - many have tried to stick the B1, not all succeed. Bobby is a low-Bund skill striker who makes ups the margin with his hard work and commitment.
Bobby was awesome in this game. I think he played better than the two-header game. He really felt the spaces and hit the openings. It made me happy because you know he is good but sometimes it goes many games without having a chance to show.
If Bobby's hold up play takes a step in the right direction he will be ale to stay at this level perhaps. He has the skills and body type to be strong holding the ball up and enough burst to chase balls over the top and turn his defenders and create separation.
He’s too wasteful in front of the goal. All the other pieces are there to be a good bottom of the table BL1 striker, but chances are so rare he can’t afford to be so wasteful. I think top BL2 is more his level, but I strongly applaud his ability to stick in BL1.
If it helps any, the top scorer(Bebou) has only 4 goals this season while Niclas Fullkrug has 3 (2 in the Bundesliga same as Bobby) goals.
Bobby got a 3,0 from Kicker, his second best score this season! {He got 2,0 in the Stuttgart game when he scored twice} http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...lbericht_hannover-96-58_vfl-wolfsburg-24.html
