    Something other than logo bitching..
    LoL
Without a TD/Manager team it's near impossible to discuss player signings.
Right now we know Lagerwey isn't taking over the team.
There have been pretty much no other substantial rumors , just random speculation.

Now it appears Dome Torrent has interest from multiple MLS clubs.
I'm in no way saying the fire should hire him. But some of the state media types have hinted that the Fire are one of the teams.

This does bring up an interesting angle. As Bastian has been rumored to possibly taking a job with the Front office.. Dome and Bastian reunited as Manager/TD?
The TD position would give Bastian a significant 'soccer side" position that wouldn't tie him to a desk in Chicago or day to day operations.
As TD he would still be able to do his Euro20 broadcast gig...
And actually put him front and center with every top player in Europe.

    It's an interesting scenario..

Well from the other thread, CJ and Arne are names that have been floated for TD, which I'd be cool with on paper.

I feel ya. I want to forget it and get back to the soccer..err football? I think I'll just avoid this website for awhile and the Fire and MLS ones permanently. I can't get away from it and it just triggers me every time I see it. I F***ING hate that image and colors.

I think I'd prefer Arne over Bastian , he seems to be an astute student of the game and is gaining a very positive reputation on the consulting/public speaker side.

If the new rebrand of the Fire is meant to signify "going out in a blaze of glory", that'd be a way to do it.

He was in town for USSF coaching related stuff . Posting the pic is classic Wynalda , he knew damn well how it would be taken. There's no way in hell as long as Nelson is in charge would Eric get an interview let alone an offer - and pretty sure he wouldn't take a job working for NRod.

I'm not sold on Eric as a coach , but I agree he would be fun for a transition season. He'd pretty do his best to inflame all the rivalries during his tenure.

He and Las Vegas Lights are perfect for each other, tbh. I don't even mean that pejoratively.

I have no idea what this means or how this will play out but...if...we were keeping NRod anyway..I am guessing this could be better then nothing.

They're basically doing what they were rumored to be doing back in September on the "soccer side", but they're doing it in a way that's so f-cking slow that it's causing everyone to have a meltdown (and probably for good reason).

edit: A good reason to have a meltdown. Not a good reason for the slowness.

That would have meant having some form of common sense but as usual common sense does not exist in this organization.

Wow! A month before the new season kicks off and we just hired a consulting company to search for a TD?

2020 looks like another year of suck. I’m glad I didn’t buy season tickets. I will show up at Soldier Field for a couple of games, but the bar is set on ground level in expectation for this “club”.

I actually believe we are on the verge of hiring a TD but either way, way too long

So Nelson now just ********s up crests, blackballing supporter groups, and being an asshole to only half the staff now.

By moving Rodriguez to the "business side only," does that mean he gets to stay in New Jersey?

    Let's hope so.

What do you mean "the new season kicks off" in a month?

It is December 5, 2019. The new season does not begin until March, 1, 2019.

There is plenty of time to:

    Hire a TD
    Hire a coach
    Hire a coaching staff
    Hire a training staff
Sign, at least 15 players, including 3 designated players.

    We have only lost:
    Schweinsteiger
    Nikolic
    Gaitan
    Katai
    McCarty
    Ousted
so only five/six starters (if Ousted counts)
Just our five of our six highest earners (the one that we kept was f'n Marcelo).

    Plus:
    Sanchez
    Campos
    Martinez
    Cleveland
    Lillard
    and
    Collier

    etc.
