This is outrageous. We need another congressional resolution to condemn this dastardly attack on General Petraeus. Calling a brave general leading our troops a "sycophantic savior" is the lowest of the low. These unpatriotic liberals are underming the war effort, giving aid and comfort to the enemy and should be tried for......hey wait a minute, this comes from Pat Buchanan's American Conservative magazine:

    Uh, nevermind.

Precisely. The "conservatives," most of them, I think aren't really aware of the hell-disaster they've backed in this moment, and how such backing is bastardizing of their own claims to anytihng other than fascistic neoconning.

Buchanan is a paleo-con. He hates the neo-con idiots who got us into Iraq as much as most liberals do.

Yup, and in this case Petraeus is merely an enabler for the neocon agenda. The author of this piece hits the nail right on the head. Although it would have been interesting to hear the collective and coordinated hissy fit the conservatives would have engaged in if this language came from a lefty source.

Yup. As much as I dislike Buchanan, he has been fairly consistent in calling out the neocons for this disaster.

Buchanan is a spheres-of-influence guy. He was opposed to the war in Iraq for the same reason he thinks we should have made nice with the Nazis.
