The U19s did destroy Andorra 6-0. As expected a win against Germany is needed to qualify. The Germans win the group with a draw, while the Swiss need to win.

    Goals: 1re owngoal 1-0. 16e Benito 2-0. 29e Seferovic 3-0. 42e Mijatovic 4-0. 70e Seferovic 5-0. 71e Freuler 6-0.

Suisse: Spiegel (Grasshopper); Decarli (Locarno)/60e Buff (Zurich), Chappuis (Grasshopper), Lacroix (Sion), Benito (Aarau)/60e Kamber (Bâle); Grether (Bâle), Nimeley (Bâle), Rodriguez (Zurich); Freuler (Grasshopper); Seferovic (Fiorentina), Mijatovic (Bellinzone)/60. Granit Xhaka (Bâle).

The two top teams qualify, so Germany is already qualified. A draw will do for us to get the 2nd place, even a loss can get us through if we have better goal difference than Northern Ireland.

1-1 FT, Ben Khalifa the man of the match

    Switzerland
Sommer; Berardi, Rossini, Klose, Daprelà; Abrashi; Frank Feltscher, Hochstrasser (69. Kasami), Fabian Frei, Zuber (89. Schürpf); Ben Khalifa (84. Gavranovic).

now, with a good result at the Euro, the team is also qualified for the London olympics. That will be not only a great them at the Euro, but also at the Olympics

with this team, we have very good chances at the Euro.
How could the roster look like?:

GK (3): Sommer, Fickentscher, Klaus (?)
DEF (8 out of 9): Daprela, Rossini, Affolter, Berardi, Rodriguez, Pavlovic, Koch, Klose, R.Feltscher - I picked 3 left defenders with Rodriguez
MF (8 out of 10): Hochstrasser, Kasami, Stocker, F.Feltscher, Abrashi, Zuber, F.Frei, Shaqiri, Costanzo, Wüthrich, Schürpf - guess Schürpf and Wüthrich have to cease their places as Stocker, Shaqiri and Costanzo will join
ST (4 out of 5): Derdyiok, Ben Khalifa, Mehmedi, Gavranovic, Seferovic
there are other players like Nikci or some U-19 players who could fit in very well as well.

    in a 4-1-4-1

    Derdyiok (Ben Khalifa/Gavranovic/Mehmedi/Seferovic)

    Stocker (Zuber, Schürpf)-Costanzo (F.Frei)-Hochstrasser (Kasami)-Shaqiri (F.Feltscher/Wüthrich)

    Abrashi (Hochstrasser/Kasami)

    Daprela (Rodriguez/Pavlovic)-Rossini (Koch)-Affolter (Klose)-Berardi (R.Feltscher/Koch)

    Sommer (Fickentscher)

or else the team also plays a 4-4-2 from time to time

That would be a strong team. I would like the chances, especially if they all were able to play a series of matches together. If I were the Swiss Federation, I would schedule about 4 or 5 matches against the strongest teams that did not qualify.

Correct as usual. The last match still should be an interesting one. I would love to see the Swiss win the group.

they're in between the U-21 and the U-19 who play Euro qualifiers, so must be a bit frustrating for them not playing either U-21 or U-19

the draw is on November 9. Ukraine, Belarus and Iceland surprising. The final tournament will take place from 11-25 June 2011 in Denmark.

The A-team is playing in England on June 4. Guess the Superleague will be finished by the end of May. The Cupfinal is on May 29

    M-19s
    Carl-Benz-Stadion, Mannheim.
    Buts: 15e Xhaka 1-0. 20e Kachunga 1-1. 36e Rodriguez (penalty) 2-1. 70e Kachunga 2-2.

Suisse: Siegrist (Aston Villa); Gonçalves (Aarau), Lacroix (Sion), Veseli (Manchester City), Rodriguez (Zurich); Facchinetti (Bellinzone), Granit Xhaka (Bâle); Kamber (Bâle)/73e Grether (Bâle), Buff (Zurich)/81e Freuler (Grasshoppers), Benito (Aarau); Seferovic (Fiorentina).

With the draw the Swiss qualify in second place. Northern Ireland won, but only 2-1. If the Swiss lost, they still would have qualified due to better goal differential.

a very good draw in Germany against a team which caused difficulties to our U-17 on the way to the World Championship

I know they can, but will the Swiss use both Kasami and Ben Khalifa for both U-19 and U21 Euro championships?

I don't know the dates, but last year the elite round was in April and May

the U-21 Euro Championships are in June

and the U-19 finals were played in July last year

So, yes theoretically it can work out, but if Kasami or Ben Khalifa will play regularly at their respective clubs what we hope, then it can become lots of matches for them. Otherwise, if they won't become regulars at their clubs this will give them a lot of match practise

Denmark, the Czech Republic, Spain and Iceland will be seeded. England, Switzerland, Belarus and Ukraine will be the unseeded teams. Whichever groups gets the Swiss will be in for a rude awakening.

    Iceland, Czech, Switzerland and Belarus.

all the teams have quite a good level, but I'd be happy if we don't get Spain and England at the same time

actually, just would like to avoid Spain, because they will be the team to beat with players as

    David de Gea
    Roberto Canella
    Álvaro Domínguez
    César Azpilicueta
    Mikel San José
    Daniel Parejo
    Bojan Krkić
    Sergio Canales
    Juan Manuel Mata
    Sergio Busquets

    they played against Croatia with

    David de Gea
César Azpilicueta/José Angel , Álvaro Domínguez , Víctor Ruiz , Mikel San José
Thiago Alcántara , Daniel Parejo , Rubén Pérez
Bojan Krkić , Adrián , Juan Manuel Mata

guess Busquests can join them from the A-team
Canales is Parejo's backup and Canella is San José's backup
