3 or 4 verses of that before the match started would get me in the mood and give me chills.

    God Bless America,
    Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, My home sweet home.

Yeah - I don't know if we want to keep that reference going or not, but I thought it was cool that we made sure the entire section knew to sing that at a particular point.

Maybe 2:00 in? Set the tone for unity and focus?

I have to agree with you on this one. To me, God Bless America just feels/sounds awkward whenever I hear it. America the Beautiful is the better song.

Yeah, all those people murdered on 9/11 are now alive again and our men and women in uniform are just farting around in Afghanistan and Iraq. Screw that. I mean, Jebus, it's been almost four years...Get over it and forget 'em!

    /sarcasm

One song is about the ideal of capital 'A' America, the other is about the real estate. I like 'America The Beautiful' but 'God Bless America' evokes a songwriter, a singer, and an audience that wasn't ashamed or embarassed to be American.

Don't sing it if you don't believe it.

We could always strum up a little This land is your land,This land is my land...
As I was walkin' - I saw a sign there
And that sign said - no tress passin'
But on the other side .... it didn't say nothin!
Now that side was made for you and me!

Make everyone happy: Sing 'em all! Hum along if you don't know the words. Be quiet if you don't like the song. Just pick one or two to be started at a set time, and wa-laa everyone is happy.

Sing this at least 3 times during the USNT games and eventually the entire stadium will learn to join in. For maximum impact you need people from all over the stadium to know and sing the theme song.
