Who should the Red Bulls go after with their second and third round draft picks? I don't know much about the field players in this draft but the goalkeeper list seems deep; not sure which ones are heading to Europe. I'd love for the Red Bulls to be able to grab a top 10 goalkeeping prospects with one of those picks.
Looking at the list of prospects I played high school soccer agaisnt Randi Paterson. He's a local prospect, and from what I recall, a deadly goal scorer. Maybe the Red Bulls can use his nose for the goal up top. He also a forward thats able to take players one on one and has incredible speed.
Giase talks to Arena on the Draft in the Newark Star Ledger...he talks about being hamstrung by Mojo and Bozo (read Bozo as Lalas)...it also looks like Claudio will be with us via an allocation... probably in exchange for Youri http://www.nj.com/columns/ledger/giase/index.ssf?/base/columns-0/116832156233500.xml&coll=1

Buzz Carrick's Top 25: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story?id=399293&root=mls&cc=5901 Buzz has been really good with predicting top quality picks. He pointed out last draft that Jozy would be a breakout star. With picks as low as 19 and 33 in a weak draft class, I think we have to pick out of pure potential, and not out for our needs. If Jay Needham drops to 19 somehow, we have to take him, but I doubt it. If not I hope we get Abdus Ibrahim the U-17 project. After that I'd look at John Cunliffe, who Buzz expects to be a great second round pick. If we somehow get one of those 3 with our #19, I'll be happy. Either way, dont expect last years amazing draft.
I'd add Edson Elcock, Forward Old Dominion.. he had a great combine and is a local...he played for Silver Lake SC on Staten Island (same club Woly played for)
NYRB hold five picks in Friday's MLS SuperDraft: First Round No. 16 Second Round No. 6 (31 overall) and 16 (39 overall) Fourth Round No. 14 (83 overall) and 16 (85 overall).
