Winnings could be no more than a few million. Both sides are likely guaranteed a sum. But nothing that will buy a player of quality. The money is likely used as bonus for the players.

They are turning in to a bogey team for us.

Until we get a driving force in MF like SMS, or another Pogba or Vidal we will suffer against teams like this. FB also.

What a surprise. The 2 areas that were obvious as weaknesses going into the season are, well, weaknesses now.

What pisses me off is that we know the central midfield is a glaring weakness, where as we are strong in central defense and in attack; not to mention our wingbacks are good going forward and not so adept defending. Why not try a three-man backline and keep the three strikers and go more direct? At least as an option when you see it ain't working with your favored 4-3-1-2.

If Lazio win on Wed. they will be 3 points behind.

they are definitely in it now.

We need to sort out what we are doing in the back. Too much fooling around with the ball in and around the box.

Inevitably talented and aggressive teams like Inzaghi's are going to punish any mistakes. And playing the way we are, there will almost certainly be some mistakes.

Our best formation with our current personnel is a 3 back set up. Either a 3-4-3 or a 3-5-2. Either would work.

That puts BonBion back to his best as a sweeper in a 3 man backline flanked by Demmy and MdL. It takes our hideous FB's out of play and puts them where they could be effective - as WBs. Cuadrado and Sandro are both good WBs but not FBs.

Sarri won't do this though. Our spacing under his system is terrible in the back. It can work further up the field but when facing an aggressive and skilled team, those 5 yard one touch passes around the box will cost you goals, as we have seen 2 times against Lazio already. They will not be the last ones we give up playing that way.

We will still have issues in MF though even if we were to adopt a 3 back system, as there is no driver in the middle of the park right now. That should be our primary target in Jan and/or this summer.

Sarri is too smart to change from his system. Stubborn fool.

3-4-3/3-4-1-2 could be an ideal way forward, especially as Chiello makes his way back and midfield being our weakest part of the team.

    ------------------------Woj
    -----------Demiral-Bonucci-de Ligt
    Cuadrado-Bentancur-Rabiot-A. Sandro
    ----------------------Dybala
    --------------Higuain----Ronaldo

I Actually think that Gasperini would do wonders with the above squad.

May be a hot take but Pjanic has really been uninspiring lately. I no longer feel that he is a must start.

Per Tuttosport, Bernardeschi to start in the mezalla role today in a 4-3-3. The attack will be D. Costa, Pipita and Ronaldo. Should be interesting to watch.

Ronaldo is not playing today he is being rested, Dybala and Higuain are set to start up front. Rugani will start today as well ahead of de Ligt apparently

I think Berna could seriously cement a place in the XI, with this switch to the Mezalla role.

Idk about cementing a starting 11 spot ahead of Rabiot or Bentancur. If so, good for him!
