    - Geiger has all of a sudden quit his job at Aarau and been replaced by Schönenberger!

    - GC kicked out Igor Stepanovs after the FCZ match where he got red-carded.

    Round 35 to date:

    Aarau 1 - 0 St Gallen
    FC Zurich 4 - 1 Yverdon
    N Xamax 1 - 0 Grasshoppers
    Schaffhausen 0 - 4 Basle

    Berner derby is later today.

Another shocking performance by GC under the useless Balakov who must take full responsibility for a failed season. He inherited a team in third place, only a few points off 2nd place - and guides them to (a highly probable) 4th. No UEFA cup next season. No extra money that comes with it.

    Young Boys - Thun 2:1

Thun blows a 1:0 lead with five minutes to go (Hakan scored the game-winner)

What a dismal weekend for GC. A loss against the worst team in the league and no help from Thun.

Looks like we'll have to reach the UEFA Cup via Intertoto...

YB is about to ruin Basel's championship celebrations tonight:

    HT: YB - FCB 2:0

    - 28' Yapi Yapo 1 : 0
    - 42' H.Yakin 2 : 0

Hakan out of all people... :D

    FT: YB - FCB 4:2

YB grabs the UEFA Cup spot. Basel now has to play a "grande finale" against FCZ on Saturday...

First time in my life I cheered for YB. Well done boys!

Now after the boro game, Basel’s second trauma this season is gone come next Saturday!

If FCZ wins this weekend. Who wins? I can not remember if it goes to goal differiential or head to head first.

As much as I hate to say it, I would like to see FCZ win the title on Saturday evening. A trophy-less season for Basel can only be good for the rest of Swiss football - if only to temporarily break their stranglehold.

Blimey an FCZ fan on these boards? Over here in England we say 'coming out of the woodwork', (only appearing when times are good!). Anyway please beat Basel, then next season you can disappear back to where you came from.............. something to do with animal smells I believe!!;)

@SwissGCZ: I was looking for some information about the world cup teams and just recently came across this board.

And @barum: which explains my “coming out of the woodwork”. But you’re somehow right with your observations. It seems to me too that GCZ fans really spend more time at home in front the pc and less time in the stadium (or generally in the 'world outside'). ;)

Would FCZ know what a stadium is? I always thought the Letzigrund** was used by cattle to graze and sh*t on before they were slaughted!

**Before it was destroyed by FCZ fans, leading to cancellation of the end of season party:D :D :D

Wow, the Basel fans went crazy!

I saw one guy giving hell to about 50 cops, some guy chasing FCZ players with flares. Flilipescu stomped on a guy. It was crazy.
