Refs make mistakes. But, losing teams complaining about the refereeing nothing new. I watched this match on my third computer - meaning not intently as my first 2 - but to me, it looked like Albany wanted to make it a physical match and play thuggishly.
the top 7 seeded teams won (so the top 8 seeds went 7–1). the bottom 6 seeded teams lost (so the lower 8 seeds went 2–6). maybe just random noise, but not a great testament to the committee's work.
Nonsense. Any ranking has a great deal of uncertainty. The committee's was as good as any (though I would dump the committee in favor of a strict mathematical formula, like in hockey).
Weird stat: Michigan State's Ken Krolicki has one assist all season entering the second round of the NCAA Tournament; he had three Sunday against Virginia Tech. BTW, Michigan State-Western Michigan should be a frikkin' blast and really good for college soccer.
