What we will or will not spend on Pogba is all speculation, but what we do know is that we’re going to sell a few more players, which will help raise more funds for an assault on Pogba.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we offer closer to 150m as our maximum amount, after taking into account player sales. Zidane’s comments are clear:
“Pogba? We know what we want and we're working on it"
“"Until the 31st of August we can make changes, players can leave and others could arrive."

 

Unless there’s a global club conspiracy against the player, I just don’t think many clubs see a need/role for him and therefore the demand is just not that high.

 

For 40M why not keep him? He's worth the same as Llorente now ffs?!

 

If we’re not going to use him, I’d rather we sell and raise funds for a CM or two. I’m not advocating to sell him for peanuts though.

 

Well the PL transfer shuts sooner, so at least we will know early if the transfer is likely to happen or not

 

Honestly if hes below 40 just send him and Zidane out somewhere in Arizona with some Peyote and have a fking Cumbaya.

Let the dude play as the third CM, rehab his value and sell him off for more next year. Swap him with Eriksen fo free. At least get some use of the dude

If United have done their deals by the time the PL window closes, they can sell afterwards. Don’t see the big issue with this.

 

Its possible we are pausing the Pogba deal till we finalize James and Bales' situation. Making another big signing without getting removing some of the big wages from our budget is probably not a good idea. Also seems like we are keeping Keylor and Mariano which will strain our budget even more.

 

We have 5 players too many. The world knows it and I'm guessing there's bunch of offers on the table, but the clubs are probably offering 30 mil € for the likes of James and Ceballos knowing Zidane doesn't want them.
You can't blame these clubs for playing hardball. Everyone works in their own interest.

 

True, but then they'll have to wait. We also have no reason to sell them quick.

They'll have to wait for the mercato deadline if they want to play it cheap. Or they can pay the right price now, and have a good prep with them included in their tactics.

They don't want to make any gift. That's 100% their rights. We have no obligation to make any gift either.

 

For those interested. Pundits on LequipeTV were really confident about what François Verdenet, and Degorre (both are LEquipe journalists) published about Pogba to RM.

By confident, Verdenet source seems sure that if we pay 150ME to United, he's ours. It's also implied it isn't a release clause type fee, so that it can be paid in instalments.

 

The longer they wait the higher the price goes.

In the end they'll be fighting against time.

Madrid thinks Utd will be more open to negotiation in early August due to the pressure from Pogba. If the transfer doesn't go through, RM will move to plan B before September 2nd.

 

If United want to save face, they will make purchases before they sell to appease fans, manage the media and protect brand equity. It’s not uncommon for big clubs to do that.
