Tottenham are expected to confirm the signing of Georges-Kevin Nkoudou from French club Marseille for a fee in the region of £9m today.

    Evening all.

Wanyama and Dier are cover for each other. Dembele and Sissoko would be cover for each other, it's a very good move if you think of it as Wanyama and Sissoko for Bentaleb and Mason.

And we're so far apart on valuations that Sissoko won't happen.
Also there's no competition for Eriksen.
    Also everything is stupid.

Just can't get excited for these deadline day stories, to end the day with this year's equivalent of Frazier Campbell on loan.

    Agreed.
Could George be competition from Eriksen? Different players for sure, but with Eriksen playing wide.
    Agreed.

    Pertinent info

"In one of the most protracted transfer sagas of any transfer window that saw head of recruitment Paul Mitchell tender his resignation, Nkoudou has signed a four-year deal at White Hart Lane for a fee of around £9.4m - a reduction of £1.6m from the original fee agreed with Marseille in mid-July. The Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy, attempted to restructure the deal despite the 21-year-old having already completed his medical and negotiations initially broke down.

That impasse led to Mitchell announcing that he would leave his post stating that his dream job had turned into a nightmare"

with the Nkoudou transfer happened now, the only major weakness I see is cover for Eriksen. unless someone thinks Winks can push him? (I doubt it, but I haven't really seen much of Winks to know what he can do)

A central midfielder that can push the action forward with a good range of passing is also needed as cover for Dembele.

It’s cliche by this point, but transfer fees have become ridiculous.

Hey maybe it's just a ploy to make Everton break the bank. Otherwise this is completely out of character for Levy.

At least we didn't weaken our team by buying David Luiz. [emoji23]

I like Sissoko but he's always seemed kind of streaky.

Now being reported as Sissoko signs for us, 30m, 5 year deal.

I like it. The fee is stupid, but we miss Dembele so much when he's not there. The front 4 seem a bit stunted because there isn't a hard running ball carrier to join in and pull a defender out of position, something that Sissoko is excellent at either through the middle or occasionally wide right.

Yep, Everton is out. Sissoko just needs to give effort each time out. We'll see.
