Again prolific for Jong Ajax. Jong PSV - Jong Ajax 0-2 HT, 1x Suk. Maybe he can add one to his tally in the 2nd half.

Also 0-2 FT, Suk was substituted after 60 minutes, he'll probably get some play time coming thursday in our cup match against Go Ahead Eagles.

According to some fan reports, Suk was generally lively and played a solid match. Good individual effort to score his goal.

It where not just two young defenders he fooled, but experienced defenders. Marcellis even kicked it to the national team of Netherlands. And Olfers has much experience with different clubs.

okay, i know i'm sounding like a broken record here, but why isn't he under consideration for the national team this year? the guy clearly has the tools to be an out-and-out striker and seems to have all the right instincts. you've got to give kids like this a chance, no?

the real problems are that 1) hes not getting good playing time and 2) exposure. he hasnt had many caps at any of the NT levels so he needs to show at the club level hes adequate. no doubt he is probably our top striker under 20. he will have plenty of responsibilities later on as long as he doesnt turn into another shin young rok.

Its been beaten to death already. If it happens great, if not you cant lose sleep over it.

Its out of our hands. Actually...it never was in our hands. :)

edit: I think a lot of us are getting caught up in the what if factor. Sure he doesnt have any real experience but what if he's some phenom perfect storm that could acclimate easily to our system without much downtime. Admittedly, its like banking on a penny stock and thinking that itll be $20 stock one day. Chances of this are very low actually. I am damn intrigued though I must say and like Ive said many times, look at who we have now.

    1. Would Martin Jol risk him at this point in the season when Ajax are in second place with only one point ahead of PSV and only four points behind leaders Twente? Compared to players like Suarez, he's much more of a potential liability. Obviously Jol thinks highly enough of him and thus is keeping him playing in reserves and Jong Ajax while keeping him on the bench of the senior squad.

    2. Suk Hyun-Jun has plenty of competition for the 'top striker' in the U-20 squad and nothing is certain at the moment. This is a squad loaded with attacking talent having inherited a good chunk of the U-17 stars (as well as the manager) and incorporating the first real wave/generation KFA's post-2002 foreign study program in England, France, and Germany. Lee Yong-Jae, Nam Tae-Hee, Ji Dong-Won, Lee Jong-Ho all can play striker convincingly or naturally. It is far from a cemented place for Suk Hyun-Jun. To be fair, there is a lot of depth in this U-20 generation in most positions and if recent trends are indicative of anything, the competition levels are far from waning.

Some may point to Suk Hyun-Jun's physicality as being a standout for the squad and at 1.90 m, it's hard to argue but Lee Yong-Jae is no slouch at 6 foot and Ji Dong-Won is 1.87 m. Lee Jong-Ho, while not tall, is noted for his aggressive and physical approach which troubled most defenses in the U-17 World Cup.

Yeah, Marcellis was rated as the biggest Dutch central defensive talent while Olfers played CL last season.

But, Marcellis has been horrible this season and Olfers played CL with a very, very, very small team.

Oh JOOYUH that goal was beautiful. Showed hustle, muscle, close ball-control and clinical finish.

And there's no point in talking about Suk for South Africa. He probably doesn't even have a 1% chance at this point, since Huh never called him for the friendlies earlier in the year or the EAFC. But when you think of the future, it certainly whets your appetite to think that Suk might not even be our best striker amongst his peers. Now if we could only get some stalwart defenders coming through the pipeline...

Speaking of height, who was that really tall dude that subbed on in the match against Zambia? Is he one of the aforementioned strikers in stat's post?

Must have been him. He was freakishly tall but not very effective.

sick goal reminds me of zlatan ibrahimovic, suk is a little shorter but his touch for such a tall guy is superb
